Going on a vacation is something you want to do with your whole family. Of course your pets are family members as well. There are many options that you have when it comes to traveling with your pets. It’s an option to leave them at home with a trusted friend or family member, but many people want to bring them along. Your pets deserve some vacation time too. If you’re flying, contact the airlines to find out the regulations regarding traveling with animals. 6) Take Breaks if You’re Driving

If your pets are well behaved in the car then driving won’t be a problem. Make sure to take lots of breaks so your pets can get out of the car and walk around. Just like you need to stretch your legs, they will too. Make sure you have water for them because riding in the car can make them really thirsty. Many rest areas have great places to walk your pets, but please remember to clean up after them.

5) The Campgrounds at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort

Unfortunately for pet lovers Walt Disney World Resorts do not allow you to bring your pets into the hotels. The only Disney Resort that allows animals is the Campgrounds at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Some of the RV sites allow pets, the tent sites do not. There are some very strict rules, like pets must be on a leash. Make sure to look up all pet policies before leaving for your vacation. There are a limited number of pet friendly spots here so make sure to make your reservation early and let them know you’ll be bringing your pets along.

4) Stay Off Property

Since Walt Disney World Resorts do not allow pets, you’ll need to look for other options. There are many hotels that are just a few miles from the parks that will welcome your pets. There are great websites that will help you find which hotels are pet friendly. Sometimes there is an extra fee so make sure you find out what all of the pet policies are ahead of time. Many hotels offer free buses to the parks so you won’t have to worry about getting there. Again, that is all something that you will need to look into before booking your vacation.

3) Don’t Sneak Your Pets In

It might be tempting to try and sneak your pets into one of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels but don’t do it. It’s a rule they have and no matter how much you don’t like it you have to follow it. If you try to sneak your pets in you will get caught and you’ll lose your deposit. It’s also not fair to the other guests who wish they could have their pets with them.

2) Best Friends Pet Care

If you still want to stay at a Walt Disney World Resort you can always take your pets to Best Friends Pet Care. It’s Disney owned, and located on Bonnet Creek Parkway. There they will be well taken care of while you enjoy the parks. You can at any time stop by and visit your furry friends. They can stay for the whole vacation or just for the day. You can be assured that they will be well taken care of by trained animal lovers, and they are sure to have a great vacation too.

1) Check on Them

If you’re staying off property and you’re leaving your pets at the hotel make sure you check on them during the day. They’ll need to go outside and get some fresh air. Remember, if you already paid for parking at the parks that day keep your receipt so you can leave and come back without having to pay again. Heading back to the hotel can also be a great time for a quick nap, which may be useful.
