First Look at Disney100 Decorations Coming to Sleeping Beauty Castle

2023 is set to be an incredible year for Disney fans as the Walt Disney Company kicks off a one-of-a-kind celebration.

Disney 100 Years of Wonder, which was first announced at this year’s D23 Expo, will be the “largest cross-company global celebration” in the history of the Walt Disney Company bringing enhanced magic and limited-time offerings to Disney Parks around the world.

The center of the celebration will be the Disneyland Resort, where the Parks will be outfitted with enhanced decor and experiences created just for this occasion. Within Disneyland, Sleeping Beauty Castle will take on a brand new look in celebration of the event.

The Disney Parks Blog shared that the Disney100 anniversary celebration will officially begin with special festivities at the Disneyland Resort on January 27, 2023. As we get closer to the start of the celebration, Disney will begin enhancing Sleeping Beauty Castle to give the Park icon a completed look by January 27 based on the concept art below:

Along with a new (and absolutely breathtaking!) look at Sleeping Beauty Castle, the Disney100 Celebration will bring new sparkling outfits to some of our favorite characters at Disney Parks, including Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. And, Guests visiting Disneyland during the event will be thrilled to see special food and beverage, and merchandise offerings created just for the celebration.

The new look for Sleeping Beauty Castle is stunning, with platinum banners and bunting placed alongside decorations featuring the three Good Fairies from the 1959 Walt Disney Animation Studios film. Nearby the Castle, two water fountains will be installed ahead of the celebration along with a wishing star visible above Guest areas.

A new look for Sleeping Beauty Castle is only one element of the Disney100 celebration at Disneyland. During the event, Guests will also be able to experience two new shows including World of Color – One at Disney California Adventure and Wondrous Journeys, which will thrill Guests in a new nighttime spectacular at Disneyland Park .

Along with new nighttime spectaculars, the Magic Happens parade will (finally!) return to Disneyland Park, and additional entertainment will be announced for areas across the Resort as we get closer to the start of Disney100.

The reopening of an enhanced Mickey’s Toontown will not take place at the start of the celebration, but Guest will be excited to learn that the land’s main attraction, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will have an early opening on January 27.

We will continue to monitor updates from the Disney100 Celebration, and will be back with updates as we have them here on Disney Tips.
