Many Disney Park fans have been tracking the ongoing construction of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure since Splash Mountain closed earlier this year. There’s been much anticipation and debate over the desire to transition the classic water flume ride at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park in Orlando and Disneyland Park in Anaheim.

New construction photos in the area seem to imply that the framing for the water tower as part of the attraction’s new facade has been installed. The erected structure sits taller than any other scaffolding around the former Splash Mountain attraction. In the scaled model of the attraction, one can see a large water tower that reads “Tiana’s Foods.”
Meanwhile, there seem to be little changes happening to the queue lines in and through the mountain nor in the flume part of the ride.
Although there is a little speculation that much would change in the track layout, some changes are still possible. The decision for Disney Parks to retheme the attraction has been a source of debate in the theme Park community and among Disney fans.

Guest Response
Although many Guests don’t have a strong love for Song of the South (1946), which is the film that the original ride was based on, people still fondly think of the Splash Mountain ride. Likewise, although many Guests don’t have a negative view of The Princess and the Frog (2009), they may not like how it is utilized in Walt Disney World parks. Some of the comments seem to align more with the pushback Disney received when they changed Maelstrom into Frozen Ever After in EPCOT in 2016.
Although Frozen (2013) was a popular film that many people felt deserved an attraction at a Disney Park, some Guests did not that Disney decided to retheme an existing attraction instead of creating a new and exciting experience.

However, the final version of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is received by Guests and old-school Disney fans; it is sure to garner long lines and become one of the theme Park’s most popular E-Ticket attractions, just as Splash Mountain has been for decades before.
