One of Disneyland Park’s classic attractions, Star Tours – The Adventure Continues, is now closed for a lengthy scheduled refurbishment. As of July 2, 2025, guests can no longer experience the beloved Star Wars-themed ride, as access to the attraction has been blocked off and construction walls have been erected.

Star Tours, initially created in collaboration with George Lucas before The Walt Disney Company acquired Lucasfilm, has been a staple at Disneyland since its opening in 1987. Over the years, the ride has undergone several updates, including the transformation into Star Tours – The Adventure Continues, which incorporates characters and locations from all nine Skywalker saga films. The attraction has also been updated to feature elements from The Mandalorian and other Disney+ series, expanding the Star Wars universe within Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, and Disney parks around the world.

However, as of this week, the iconic simulator attraction is no longer operational. Construction walls now block both the entrance and exit to the ride, which is located inside the Star Trader gift shop. Signs near the attraction’s entrance read: “Star Tours flights are cancelled during refurbishment. Please enjoy other Tomorrowland attractions.”

At the time of the closure, Disneyland Resort had not provided a specific reopening date for Star Tours – The Adventure Continues, although cast members have shared with WDWNT that the ride will remain closed at least through September. Disney has not elaborated on the scope of the refurbishment, posting only this notice on its website: “Star Tours – The Adventures Continue is currently closed for refurbishment. Please check back here for updates.”

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge remains open for guests still eager to explore the galaxy far, far away, offering other Star Wars-themed experiences, including Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.
