Starcruiser Guests Concerned that Hefty Price Tag Is Not Matching Disney’s “Show”

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is Disney’s brand new themed hotel launching in Walt Disney World in March 2022.

The eagerly-awaited Galactic Starcruiser hotel will take Guests on a (simulated) voyage through a galaxy far, far away. While aboard the Galactic Starcruiser. Guests will be fully immersed in the Star Wars story and have an influence on the narrative of their stay.

The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser has been described as a unique experience that Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Chapek has promised will leave Guests “blown away”. Designed and priced similar to a cruise on Disney Cruise Line, the two-night “journey” is meant to take fans out of this world.

Now, however, a new insight into the Starcruiser’s transportation system has left some Guests worried about Disney’s lack of “show”.

At a recent D23 event, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Josh D’Amaro revealed his own experience onboard the Galactic Starcruiser with a sneak peek video, along with a video of the live entertainment Guests can look forward to.

Criticism for these sneak peeks was high, with many Star Wars fans disappointed at the first look of the Halcyon. Most fans agreed that the Starcruiser does not live up to Disney standards of Imagineering or the incredibly high price tag of the experience.

Weirdly, Disney removed its videos of the Starcruiser from its social channels without comment. The original Tweet link, as well as the YouTube link, now show that the content has been taken down.

The two-night adventure costs approximately $6,000 for an average family of four, and includes 2 nights’ accommodation, 4 meals and refreshments aboard the Starcruiser, 1 quick-service meal at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, interactive and immersive entertainment, as well as admission to Disney’s Hollywood Studios for a Galaxy’s Edge excursion

This week at Disney Springs the bus signage has been updated to include a new spot for the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. Spot 18 clearly demonstrates that Guests of the new hotel will be able to leave and visit Disney Springs, or at least be transported from there to the Halycon.

It has been revealed that regular buses will not be used for transporting Starcruiser Guests, and instead, a special shuttle has been designed to take Guests to Batuu for their excursion and continue the immersive nature of the experience.

Many Guests have been wondering how the experience will work, with the hotel priced and structured like a cruise voyage. The two-night stay has interactive storytelling, characters, and planned dining, but this bus stop seems to suggest that Guests can leave the Star Wars world to shop, dine and play at Disney Springs.

Some buses were spotted training around Walt Disney World property, so keep your eyes peeled on your next trip!

Guests have been canceling their stays aboard the Galactic Starcruiser, recently, with months that were fully booked now showing availability.

In March, April, and June 2022, numerous openings have suddenly become available for booking when these months were fully booked.

We’ll have to see in March when the first reviews come in from Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser’s first Guests, but for now it seems many fans are not impressed with the lackluster previews.

Characters like Chewbacca, Rey, and Kylo Ren will all be on board the ship, and Guests will take a port excursion to Batuu’s Black Spire Outpost in Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Galaxy’s Edge.
The Star Wars-themed land is set between Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi (2017) and Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker (2019) in the Star Wars timeline. Guests will be able to visit Batuu and ride Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Rise of the Resistance.
