One of Disney’s Most Unique Signature Restaurants Is Planning to Reopen Soon

Foodies rejoice! One of the most unique signature dining experiences at the Walt Disney World Resort is preparing to reopen very soon.

Signature dining at Disney Parks and Resorts is a great way to plan a special date night, celebrate an occasion, or simply enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner out with family and friends. Several of our favorite signature dining experiences are located in EPCOT’s World Showcase, and while most have already reopened, there is one location that plans to open back up soon that we can’t wait to try again.

Takumi-Tei, the multi-course signature dining experience located in the Japan Pavilion in World Showcase, is preparing to reopen on November 23, 2022.

We confirmed with Mitsukoshi, the company that operates the dining and retail locations in the Japan pavilion, that the location is planning to reopen on this date; however, reservations are not yet available through Disney’s official website or the My Disney Experience app.

Details like operating hours and potential menu changes are still being worked out for when Takumi-Tei returns to EPCOT, but we are expecting the same level of top-notch service for a multi-course gourmet dining experience, along with enhancements for Guests who opt to dine at the Chef’s Table in the Water Room.

Dinner at Takumi-Tei focuses on giving Guests a unique understanding of Japanese culture shared through a delicious meal presented by cultural representatives from Japan. Past highlights of the menu included Japanese A-5 wagyu beef tenderloin, sushi, and sashimi, along with an array of specialty desserts and cocktails for Guests ages 21 and over.

Disney’s official description of Takumi-Tei reads:

Delight your senses in this stunning setting when you dine on brilliantly prepared dishes.

You’ll be seated in one of 5 rooms, each inspired by a natural element—water, wood, earth, stone or washi paper. Every area features beautiful, handcrafted works of art honoring the element that brought it to life.

At Takumi-Tei, the beauty of Japan is also in its cuisine. Choose from our a la carte or multicourse tasting menus offering creatively prepared, Japanese-inspired dishes like braised wagyu beef, roasted duck, maki sushi and yuzu cheesecake. Guests may also enjoy signature cocktails, premium sake, wine and craft beer.

We will continue to monitor EPCOT’s dining scene and will be back with updates when we are able to confirm pricing, menu updates, and hours at Takumi-Tei. In the meantime, be sure to check the official Disney website and the My Disney Experience app for available menus and dining reservations in EPCOT and other Disney Parks and Resorts.
