Saget had shared with his family that he had accidentally hit the back of his head on something and thought nothing of it and went back to sleep. It was that head trauma that contributed to his death.

Now Saget’s family is filing a lawsuit to block the release of records from his death investigation. This includes any photos, videos, or audio recordings and statutorily protected autopsy information related to his death.

When there is a request to release the records, it argues that there would be no “legitimate public interest would be served.”

The family is trying to block the records, and it only has been released to his wife and daughters. Several news outlets are reaching out to Orange County Sheriff’s Office in Orange County Government for a comment but have yet to receive one.

His family shared,  “As we continue to mourn together, we ask everyone to remember the love and laughter that Bob brought to this world, and the lessons he taught us all: to be kind to everyone, to let the people you love know you love them, and to face difficult times with hugs and laughter.”
