There have been quite a few changes at Disney Parks over the last few years. This one may be the biggest, though, that directly affects Guests.
Shanghai Disney Resort implemented a new ban that started on June 30, 2023, with no end date in sight. When visiting Disney Park, there is a lot to take in and experience. With that comes the responsibility of the Guest to do the right thing like common sense, throw your trash out, and be polite to other Guests visiting. The Shanghai Disney website also puts an emphasis on wearing masks properly in indoor locations and “All Guests are encouraged to maintain good personal hygiene.”
As Disney Guests to any Park, we know there are rules to follow. However, each Park from California to Orlando to Paris to Hong Kong may vary in their rules and regulations. Now, Shanghai Disney Resort is implementing new rules that other Parks do not have.

Shanghai Disney Resort New Rules and Regulations
The new rules have been effective as of Friday, June 30, 2023. Still allowed in the Parks are manual or electric wheelchairs for Guests who need them. Child strollers are also still allowed but with a few stipulations, which is where the most significant change comes in. Shanghai Disney writes,
Child strollers meeting all of the following conditions:
– Length NOT exceeding 110 cm, width NOT exceeding 80 cm (both including any accessories or extension attachments fully deployed)
– Designed and used to transport children of 11 years old and younger or with height of 1.4 meters and below on the day of their visit
– Designed to be pushed from behind
Furthermore, they have also included a list of complete bans on other types of carriers. Guests may not do the following;
Carriers or vehicles, including but not limited to the ones listed below (regardless of their sizes except for the otherwise specified sizes of child strollers), are NOT permitted to be brought into Shanghai Disneyland and indoor locations of Disneytown:
- Strollers with length exceeding 110 cm, width exceeding 80 cm (both including any accessories or extension attachments fully deployed)
- Wagons, stroller wagons
- Carts
- Children’s tricycles
- Wheeled carriers
- Stroller suitcases
- Any trailer-like object that is pushed, pulled or towed by an electric conveyance vehicle, wheelchair, stroller or person
It is unclear what prompted the ban and change in rules. But Guests who do not abide by the rules will not be welcomed into the Park.
