Breaking the Bubble: The “Random” Triple Homicide of Disney World Tourists That Shocked Central Florida

The “Disney Bubble” has long been considered one of the safest vacation environments in the world. Families from across the globe save for years to experience the magic of the Orlando and Kissimmee areas, often opting for the sprawling vacation rentals of Osceola County to feel at home. However, that sense of security was shattered by an act of violence so senseless it has left the international travel community reeling.

In what Osceola County Sheriff Christopher Blackmon has officially classified as a “completely random” and “cold-blooded” triple homicide, three touristsโ€”all in their late 60s and 70sโ€”were gunned down in the driveway of their vacation home. The tragedy has turned a quiet residential street into a crime scene and forced a difficult conversation about the safety of off-property stays in the “Theme Park Capital of the World.”

The Incident: A Nightmare on Indian Point Circle

The horror unfolded shortly after noon in the Indian Hill subdivision (part of the larger Indian Point community). This neighborhood is a staple of the local tourism economy, located just ten minutes from the gates of Walt Disney World.

A group of friends and family from Michigan and Ohio were nearing the end of their Florida getaway. Their afternoon took a mundane, frustrating turn when their rental car wouldn’t start. Three men from the groupโ€”Robert Luis Kraft (70), his brother Douglas Joseph Kraft (68), and their friend James John Puchan (68)โ€”were standing in the driveway of their rental at 296 Indian Point Circle, troubleshooting the vehicle and waiting for a replacement.

According to witness reports and the Sheriffโ€™s Office, a neighbor living directly next door emerged from his home and, without any provocation, argument, or prior interaction, opened fire with a handgun.

The “Random” Factor

What has made this case particularly chilling for tourists is the lack of a traditional motive. “This was not a robbery. This was not road rage. This was not a dispute between neighbors,” Sheriff Blackmon stated during a somber press conference. “These victims did not know the suspect. They were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time when a violent individual decided to act.”

The Suspect: A History of Instability

The suspect, identified as Ahmad Jihad Bojeh, 29, was taken into custody shortly after the shooting. While the victims were strangers to him, Bojeh was no stranger to local law enforcement.

Sheriff Blackmon described Bojeh as a “frequent flier” for the department. Most disturbingly, Bojeh was arrested in 2021 for a remarkably similar incident at a Wawa gas station in Kissimmee, where he allegedly opened fire at random vehicles and bystanders. Despite being charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder in that case, he was ultimately acquitted by reason of insanity. He had been living back in the Indian Hill neighborhood for several years before the events of January 17.

Navigating Vacation Safety in 2026

This tragedy has reignited the debate over the safety of Short-Term Vacation Rentals (STVRs) versus on-property Disney resorts. While millions of tourists stay in residential neighborhoods without incident, this “random” act highlights the reality that offsite rentals are subject to the complexities of any suburban neighborhood.

For travelers seeking peace of mind in 2026, experts suggest:

  • Prioritizing Manned Gated Communities: Subdivisions like Windsor Hills or Reunion offer 24-hour guarded gates that monitor everyone entering the area.
  • Security Tech: Many guests now choose rentals with visible “Ring” cameras or bring portable door security devices.
  • Neighborhood Research: Utilizing tools like CrimeMapping.com to check for recent “calls for service” in a specific ZIP code before booking.

Conclusion: A Community in Mourning

As of Monday, January 19, 2026, Ahmad Jihad Bojeh remains in the Osceola County Jail without bond, facing three counts of Premeditated First-Degree Murder. For the families of the Kraft brothers and James Puchan, the “Happiest Place on Earth” has been forever associated with an unimaginable loss.

As the tourism board works to restore the regionโ€™s image of safety, the focus remains on seeking justice for the victims and ensuring that the “Disney Bubble” remains a sanctuary for all who visit.

  1. WELL THANK GOD ICE IS COMING TO CENTRAL FLORIDA AND WDW TO GET THESE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS OUT OF THE AREA
ANOTHER IMMIGRANT SHOT 3 PEOPLE AT RANDOM AND WAS INVOLVED IN A SHOOTING AT A WAWA NOW A DANGEROUS MISSING PERSON AT DISNEY SPRINGS YESTERDAY
THEY ARE HERE AND THEY ALL NEED TO BE CAUGHT AND DEPORTED
WHO WANTS TO GO SHOPPING OR DINING AT DISNEY SPRINGS WHEN THE ILLEGAL CRIMINALS ARE GETTING I

  2. Just by his name we can deduce the suspect is from the middle east and most likely is illegal or a recent arrival, and NONE of the safety suggestions from the “experts” would have made a difference, gated communities, ring cameras and neighborhood research would not have prevented a crazy neighbor from communicating this crime. If the victims had taken responsibility for their own safety and had a means of self defense such as a handgun ( legal in Florida without a carry permit ) perhaps they would be alive today.

  3. As a Florida resident I have never been to Disney unarmed and will never go to Disney unarmed.

The most magical place on earth is an advertising slogan that many people choose to believe it is not an excuse to delegate your’s and your family’s safety to others. I would rather be banned from Disney for life than live with the fact that I followed Disney rules and lost a family member or died myself because Disney wants to be known as a “woke” corporation. Your family’s safety and your own is YOUR responsibility stop trusting others for your safety.

  4. I have one question how did he get a gun, when he run into the cops before ?
