Tiana’s Bayou Adventure recently experienced a temporary technical malfunction, leaving several Magic Kingdom Park guests stuck on the ride. The attraction, which reimagined the former Splash Mountain into a Princess and the Frog (2009)-themed experience, was shut down for a brief period, much to the surprise of several riders hoping to enjoy the end of their park day.

The Splash Mountain retheme opened at Magic Kingdom Park in June 2024, and Disneyland Park’s version debuted a few months later. The ride takes place after the events of the Disney Princess film, and guests help Princess Tiana (Anika Noni Rose), Mama Odie (Jenifer Lewis), Prince Naveen (Bruno Campos), and Louis (Michael-Leon Wooley) find musicians for a New Orleans-style celebration.

TikTok user @kaelynalex shared her unusual experience on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure last week. The user’s video revealed that her group had arrived at the Frontierland attraction just before closing time, eager to get one more ride in. However, things didn’t go as planned when the ride came to a halt near Princess Tiana’s animatronic on the first lift hill.

The video showed the motionless animatronic with her eyes closed. “We ran here,” one of the guests on board the log flume ride exclaimed.

After a brief wait, the Walt Disney World Resort ride resumed operation, and fortunately, no evacuation was required. The video showed the attraction continuing as usual after the delay, and the Disney Park guest described it as “a very fun way to end the night.”

Although Walt Disney World Resort typically doesn’t comment on minor ride breakdowns, this temporary disruption didn’t cause any long-term issues. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure operated normally once the mystery problem was fixed, and the Frontierland attraction was functional at the time of this article’s finalization.
