Princess Tiana is making big moves at Disneyland Park! The Walt Disney Animation Studios film Princess and The Frog (2009) brings New Orleans flare and inspiration to Disneyland’s New Orleans Square. As Disney reimagines the French Market Restaurant in New Orleans Square, Tiana’s Palace Restaurant is slowly coming together.

Disney first began with the release of Eudora’s Chic Boutique, Featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets, a retail shop that Tiana and her mother, Eudora, opened together. Next, we patiently await the opening of Tiana’s Palace, which is set to open this year. Lastly, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the newest attraction that will open in place of Disney’s Splash Mountain, is set for 2024.

Tiana’s Palace Restaurant Update

Disney Parks and Walt Disney Imagineering took to social media to share their excitement about Tiana’s Palace Restaurants’ newest development. The building “received its marquee, wheelhouse, and two smokestacks topped with crown-shaped ornamentation,” Disney wrote. Furthermore, it is starting to show its ‘distinctive shape’, which gives the restaurant a look inspired by the film.

Tiana’s Palace

Tiana’s Palace, set to open later this year, transforms the French Market Restaurant into something spectacular. Although reimagined, Imagineers “took inspiration from the exterior of the original French Market Restaurant in New Orleans Square when designing Tiana’s Palace for the movie, so this is a long-dreamt homecoming,” Disney Parks Blog reported. Excitingly the new restaurant will have menu favorites already served at French Market, with a twist to pay homage to Princess and The Frog. Of course, Mickey-shaped beignets are slated to be available.

Tiana’s Palace is designed with peach-colored walls and elegant fixtures to reflect Tiana’s style. As she and her father James had hoped, it would be a place of gathering with family and friends while surrounded by the charisma and New Orleans flare. While it is not a character dining option, Tiana will be nearby in New Orleans Square.

With the restaurant well underway, fans took to Disney’s comment section on Instagram to share their excitement. Will you be dining at Tiana’s Palace Restaurant once it opens?
