Top 10 Must-Do Attractions At Walt Disney World

10. Pirates of the Caribbean

A classic Adventureland attraction that is not to be missed is Pirates of the Caribbean. This attraction comes with memorable show scenes and a catchy pirate tune, and is known for being the last attraction that Walt Disney personally worked on. Despite its popularity, the line moves pretty quickly (and most of the queue is air conditioned) so you may not need a FastPass for this one (but having one certainly doesn’t hurt!)

9. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run

Take a ride on the “fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy”! Star Wars fan or not, riding in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon is an experience not to be missed. With roles including pilot, gunner, and engineer – everyone must work together to reach their destination despite a few hiccups along the way.

8. Space Mountain

For a thrilling ride in the Magic Kingdom, visit Tomorrowland and take off in a rocket for a completely dark roller coaster ride. Space Mountain has retro 70s space travel vibes that many guests cannot get enough of, so be sure to use a FastPass or arrive early. Not sure if you’re up for Space Mountain? While you can’t see too clearly since the ride is in the dark, you can get a tiny glimpse of what to expect by riding the PeopleMover which travels right through Space Mountain.

7. Haunted Mansion

The Haunted Mansion provides fun spooks for the whole family in Liberty Square in the Magic Kingdom. It’s one of the most meticulously detailed attractions at the Walt Disney World Resort blending old school magic tricks with other Disney-designed special effects. While you can use a FastPass to bypass the line, the stand-by line is interactive and full of details (like the graveyard) that can really add to your experience.

6. Spaceship Earth

For a must-do attraction in Epcot, look no further than the park’s icon, Spaceship Earth. This geodesic sphere that towers over Future World is home to an omnimover style ride that brings guests through the history of human communication. The ride showcases everything from cave paintings to the first household computers, and it even offers a view of Earth from the top of the sphere. Since it’s able to hold so many guests at once the line moves along quickly, so you may want to save your FastPass for another Epcot attraction.

5. Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror in Disney’s Hollywood Studios brings guests right into the Twilight Zone. Based on the classic sci-fi TV series, guests are immersed into the story where they need to board a maintenance service elevator at the Hollywood Tower Hotel. What results is a thrilling ride featuring drops that are actually faster than gravity. It’s always helpful to use a FastPass for this one when the park is busy.

4. Slinky Dog Dash

Slinky Dog has joined in the Toy Story Land fun with smooth dips and turns on his roller coaster! This is a great family-friendly coaster that is sure to be a favorite after just one ride. Have a blast with the breeze in your hair… just don’t forget to look around at all the awesome sights you’ll see across Andy’s toy-filled backyard. Finally, pull in for a stop to hear the sweet audio-animatronic Wheezy the Penguin singing for all the Slinky Dog Dash guests to enjoy.

3. Kilimanjaro Safaris

Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is the best way to see animals in a natural environment. If you’re not a fan of zoos because you hate to see animals behind walls or glass, Animal Kingdom is the best place to see them since they have so much space to roam in recreations of their natural environments. For many guests, a ride on Kilimanjaro Safaris is the closest they’ll ever come to taking an authentic safari in Africa, so it’s a must-do on our list. Use a FastPass for this one if you can, or arrive early to ride and see the animals when they are most active.

2. Expedition Everest

One of the most thrilling rides at the Walt Disney World Resort can also be found in Animal Kingdom. Expedition Everest takes guests on a journey to find the yeti, which results in a forwards and backwards ride up and down hills and drops. The ride even culminates with a face to face encounter with the yeti. FastPasses can be helpful for skipping most of the wait time for Expedition Everest, but if you’d rather save them for something else and don’t mind riding alone this attraction does offer a single rider line that moves along quickly.

1. Flight of Passage

If you have not yet explored Pandora: World of Avatar at Animal Kingdom, you’ll need to add this one to your list! Flight of Passage is a thrilling ride that takes guests along for a flight on the back of a banshee. It’s fully immersive with the sights and sounds you’d see flying through Pandora. As one of the newest attractions in the park, the wait can get extremely long so you’ll want to plan on getting to the park when it opens if you can’t get a FastPass.
