One of the most fun parts about any vacation is picking out the perfect souvenir. The souvenir shopping experience is only made better when you happen to be doing it in Disney World. After all, what could be better than shopping for Disney merchandise? Of course, you’re going to want to pick out an especially good souvenir during your visit to Disney World. For that reason, you may not want to settle for the usual character-adorned shirts and bags. Instead, you may want something a little more personal. In these cases, we highly recommend looking for the many personalized items offered throughout the property. Below are a few of our favorite options for personalized gifts and souvenirs.
1. Mickey Ears
No Disney World vacation is complete without an adorable pair of Mickey Ears. What many people don’t realize is that those awesome ears can actually be personalized if you purchase them at The Chapeu on Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom. Have your name embroidered on the back of your Mickey ear hat, or pick a fun phrase to remember the trip by.
Little princesses will adore their very own personalized parasols. These colorful and waterproof shade makers are decorated by super talented artists who are happy to take special requests. The artists create gorgeous princess artwork as well as some seriously pretty word art. Just be prepared to wait for your treasure to be ready. Find these parasols in Liberty Square in Magic Kingdom, as well as the France Pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase.
If you’ve never had your picture drawn by a caricature artist, it’s high time you did. These artists are always astoundingly good at what they do, and this is especially true for those found in the Disney Parks. Stand by and watch as the artist creates a cartoon version of you or your child in just a few minutes. Most even make an attempt at capturing some personality in their work. Caricature artists can be found in Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Disney Springs.
Looking for something super classy to add to your kitchen? The personalized glassware sold in various places across the property is an amazing option. Grab some wine glasses engraved with your favorite character and a special date, or invest in some champagne flutes bearing the family name. No matter what you choose, you’re sure to be happy with this beautiful addition to your home.
5. DIY Lightsabers
Kids love Star Wars and lightsabers. Well, let’s be honest, adults love them too. What’s not to love about those two amazing things? For this reason, the build-your-own-lightsaber station in Hollywood Studios is an amazing place to pick up a personalized souvenir. Build your Jedi weapon to suit your tastes perfectly and take it home for use in battles for years to come.
If you find yourself in the Japan Pavilion in Epcot, you may want to do a bit of shopping there. Check out the Pick-a-Pearl station, where you can choose and open an oyster and keep whatever pearl you find inside. You’ll receive an explanation of the type of pearl you find and have the opportunity to put the pearl into a piece of jewelry if you like. This is definitely a memorable experience to go along with your souvenir.
Another awesome (and much less expensive) souvenir found in the Japan Pavilion are the high quality handheld fans. These can be personalized with a name, date, or short phrase, and are truly beautiful and useful fans. Best of all, they’re sturdy, so they won’t fall apart on you while walking through the park.
8. Leather Accessories
Leather stamping is a super cool art form that isn’t talked about often enough. Why not bring a bit of this beautiful art into your life by getting a personalized stamped leather bracelet or keychain? These amazing pieces can be found in several places in Disney World, including Canada in Epcot and Frontierland and Adventureland in Magic Kingdom.
9. Christmas Ornaments
Many people like to collect Christmas ornaments as souvenirs. We think this is a great way to remember your vacations year after year. Luckily, Disney World has plenty of ornament shopping opportunities. Better yet, both the Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Magic Kingdom and the Days of Christmas store in Disney Springs offer ornament personalization, meaning you can make your souvenir say whatever you wish.
10. Personalized Buttons
Most people are aware of the fact that they can pick up fun celebration buttons for free in any park. However, hardly anybody knows about the option to have the button personalized in beautiful, 3D word art. Simply head to Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe after picking up your buttons. The personalization folks there will be happy to add names and other little details to your buttons for a very small fee. The buttons look very professional and make super inexpensive souvenirs.
