1. Which Attractions Have Height Requirements?

It’s no secret that Hollywood Studios is the a great place to find thrill rides. This is where you’ll find such favorites as Tower of Terror and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Of course, with thrill rides come height requirements. Below are all the rides with height requirements in the park:

  • Twilight Zone Tower of Terror: 40″
  • Star Tours: 40″
  • Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster: 48″
  • Slinky Dog Dash: 38”
  • Alien Swirling Saucers: 32”

2. What if My Kids Aren’t Tall Enough to Ride?

If there’s something you want to ride that your kids can’t, you can take advantage of Rider Swap. This system allows one adult to wait with the kids while the other waits in line and rides. The waiting adult then shows a special pass which allows them to ride without waiting in line. The special pass allows the waiting adult (as well as two guests) on, meaning older kids may have the opportunity to ride twice. Approach a Cast Member near the entrance of the attraction you wish to use Rider Swap on. They’ll be happy to walk you through the process.

3. Is There Anything for Young Children to Do?

Yes! While there definitely are thrill rides at this park, there are also lots of great things for people of all ages. Disney Junior Dance Party is perfect for preschoolers, and Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage is entertaining to everyone. The whole family will enjoy Toy Story Mania and Muppet*Vision 3D is super fun no matter your age. Of course, character meet-and-greets are always an option, and the other shows in this park are also great for kids.

4. What Should I FastPass?

Choosing your FastPasses carefully can be a huge time saver. These are our opinions on what you should choose:

  • Tier 1 picks: Slinky Dog Dash or Alien Swirling Saucers
  • Tier 2 picks: Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, Star Tours

5. How Much Time Should I Allow to See Everything?

Even with the opening of Toy Story Land, Hollywood Studios is still a relatively small park and can still be seen in one day. Plan to see the shows before evening rolls around, because most end by dinner time. Additionally, you’ll want to plan to stay until close in order to catch Fantasmic!

6. Is There Nighttime Entertainment?

Yep! As mentioned just above, Fantasmic is the big nighttime spectacular at this park, and in our opinion it’s a must-see. That said, some people choose to see the Disney Movie Magic projection show and the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular fireworks show instead. Unfortunately, it isn’t possible to see all three—at least not in one night.

7. Which Restaurants are Best?

As with any Disney park, there are lots of great dining options. Our favorites include:

  • Arriving a bit before opening
  • Taking an afternoon break
  • Staying until close
  • Avoiding major holidays

At Hollywood Studios in particular you’ll want to:

  • Avoiding Star Wars Galactic Nights in May and June
  • Skip Toy Story Land in the afternoons

10. What Unique Shops Will I Find?

Hollywood Studios has plenty of great shopping opportunities. While much of the merchandise sold here is similar to what is found in many other parks, there are some unique shopping opportunities. Here are our favorites:

  • Tatooine Traders
