The characters are definitely a huge part of the Walt Disney World experience. We all have emotional connections with these beloved characters and feel like kids again when we get to meet them. This feeling and our love for these characters are what drives us to stand in line for minutes and even hours in order get their autograph, picture and a personal interaction with them. Here are the top 5 most popular Disney characters at Walt Disney World:

5. Mickey the Magician

Mickey the Magician at Magic Kingdom has a nice little surprise for guests… he talks! Mickey is no longer shy and actually holds conversations with the guests who come to visit him. Mickey is the most beloved character on Disney property, after all it was all started by a mouse, so you can’t miss the opportunity to chat with the Big Cheese himself. I recommend you try to FastPass this one located in Town Square Theater so that you can avoid the wait, since so many other guests also want the chance to talk with Mickey.

4. Lady Tremaine, with Drizella and Anastasia

These three ladies may be villains, but the guests can’t get enough of them. They are far from shy and are still seeking an opportunity to be royals. The interactions with these three are ones that you want to keep your video camera out for, since you never know what they will do or say to entertain the guests that visit with them. They are extremely popular due to the fun nature of their interactions, so be sure to plan ahead to find and meet them at Magic Kingdom.

3. Kylo Ren, Chewbacca, & BB-8

Head to the Star Wars Launch Bay at Hollywood Studios and get ready to meet Star Wars villain, Kylo Ren. To put it plainly… he’s creepy to meet but worth the line! Of course, Chewbacca is the total opposite with his sweet demeanor and soft hugs. BB-8 is super cute and a unique neat character to meet! These interesting Star Wars characters attract many guests making their lines rather long during peak season. Don’t forget – you can still see Darth Vader as well – not for a meet and greet but during the Jedi Training battles located next to Star Tours!

2. Gaston

If you look on YouTube, you will see many amazing encounters that guests have had with Gaston by his tavern in Magic Kingdom. He is extremely charismatic and definitely full of himself, but perfectly interacts and engages guests in a manner that has them flogging to meet the self-absorbed villain. Definitely watch for times he will be out and get there early to help ensure you get to meet him. His line gets VERY long!

1. Elsa and Anna

These two sisters need no introduction! You can meet these popular sisters in Epcot’s Norway Pavilion at the Royal Sommerhus. There is no FastPass+ offered for the meet and greet for these lovely ladies so you will want to try to visit them during non-peak times! There is however FastPass+ available for their attraction, Frozen Ever After which you will definitely want to snag a FastPass+ for if at all possible!

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
