Top 6 Attractions You Must Hit At The Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World is home to four absolutely magical theme parks that offer guests a huge array of thrilling, classic, and enjoyable experiences. Perhaps the most beloved of the four theme parks is the Magic Kingdom where guests are invited to explore differently themed lands filled with attractions, entertainment, dining, and shopping. With lands covering themes like space, fantasy, the Wild West, and colonial America, there are many different attractions to enjoy. Guests who spend time in the Magic Kingdom may be a little overwhelmed by the number of attractions to experience and may not know which ones are the absolute must dos. From thrilling to classic, there are definitely some attractions in the Magic Kingdom which simply can’t be missed. Here are the top six attractions that guests must hit while spending time in the Magic Kingdom.

1.     Seven Dwarfs Mine Train —

One of the newest attractions in the Magic Kingdom is also one of its most popular. The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is located in the heart of New Fantasyland and invites guests to step directly into the world of the classic Disney animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Guests who enjoy a ride on the attraction first can pass through a queue that brings them deeper and deeper into the dwarfs’ mine where there are plenty of interactive elements to entertain them. Once on board, guests enjoy the ride in mine carts which gently sway from side to side along the track. The attraction offers scenic views of New Fantasyland the surrounding areas and also gives guests a glimpse into the dwarfs’ work day where they can watch a million diamonds shine. The finale of the attraction features a glimpse of Snow White dancing with the dwarfs in their cabin and a brief but ominous appearance by the Evil Queen.

2.     Space Mountain —

Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom is home to an attraction that is the favorite of many guests. Space Mountain brings guests into Starport 75, an intergalactic space hub that services many different galaxies. Guests board rockets and soon find themselves blasting through the darkness of space at lightning fast speeds. With an upbeat soundtrack, and plenty of thrilling twists and turns thanks to the near darkness, Space Mountain is an attraction that simply can’t be missed in the Magic Kingdom.

3.     Splash Mountain —

Another mountain that can be found in the Magic Kingdom is over in Frontierland. Splash Mountain brings guests on a thrilling and soaking journey as they follow Br’er Rabbit who is off in search of more adventure. Along the way he is constantly avoiding escape by Br’er Fox and Br’er Bear through a series of tricks and luck. Guests can enjoy riding in log style boats and experience several small drops and iconic scenes like The Laughing Place before seeing Br’er Rabbit finally be captured by his foes. Br’er Fox threatens to throw Br’er Rabbit down into the Briar Patch below and guests soon find themselves plummeting down into the spiky thorns. With plenty of thrills and a great story line, guests absolutely must enjoy a ride on Splash Mountain!

4.     Big Thunder Mountain Railroad —

Located right next door to Splash Mountain in Frontierland is another mountain which brings guests on a thrilling adventure. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad takes place in the mining town of Tumbleweed where the adventure and chaos of the Wild West come to life. Guests board run away mine trains with tongue in cheek names and find themselves whipping around the mountain and through caves that appear to be collapsing. With beautiful views of Frontierland, the Rivers of America, and the mountain itself, guests are sure to love the thrills and adventure of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

5.     Haunted Mansion —

One of the most beloved and classic attractions in the Magic Kingdom can be found in the corner of Liberty Square. The Haunted Mansion is housed inside a stately manor home on the top of a foreboding hill. Once inside, guests are introduced to their Ghost Host who leads their tour throughout the home of nine hundred and ninety nine happy haunts. Once on board their Doom Buggies, guests move through iconic scenes like the graveyard, ballroom, and séance room and encounter beloved characters like Madame Leota, Constance the murderous bride, and the three hitchhiking ghosts. With plenty of humor and spooky effects, no day in the Magic Kingdom is complete without a ride on the Haunted Mansion.

6.     Pirates of the Caribbean —

Another beloved and classic attraction in the Magic Kingdom invites guests to set sail with some devilish pirates. Pirates of the Caribbean can be found in Adventureland and is accessed through a massive fort with a large courtyard outside. Once inside the fort, guests make their way to a small loading area where they set sail in small boats for their adventure. With eerie, skeleton filled caves, a thrilling seaside battle, and a burning seaside village, guests are sure to love setting sail with swashbuckling pirates on this thrilling attraction. Pirates of the Caribbean also features the famous song “Yo Ho (A Pirate’s Life For Me)” which guests are sure to find themselves singing along to!
