Top 8 Disney Pro Tips For Deluxe Villas

Bay Lake

Staying onsite at a Walt Disney World Resort means there is a hotel choice to fit everyone’s budget, tastes, and vacation style. Choosing one of the Deluxe Villas allows you to enjoy the advantages of staying onsite at Walt Disney World, and at the same time experience many of the comforts of home. The resorts that are considered Deluxe Villas include Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village, Disney’s Beach Club Villas, Disney’s BoardWalk Villas, Disney’s Old Key West Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, Disney’s Riviera Resort, and The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Whether you’re staying at a Deluxe Villa as part of the Disney Vacation Club or renting one with cash, here’s how to take full advantage of what these accommodations have to offer.

8. Grocery Delivery Services –

The Deluxe Villas come with a full kitchen and dining area, and the kitchen is fully equipped with cookware and flatware. Many guests choose to make their stay more relaxing and save some money by cooking meals in their villa. If you don’t have a car during your stay and want to avoid grocery shopping, definitely consider using one of the local grocery delivery services. Guests can place a grocery order online and have their purchases delivered directly to the resort on the arrival day. Alcoholic beverages, cases of water, baby needs, and suncare products can be added to the list as well. Most of the delivery services require the order to be placed several weeks in advance, and many add a delivery charge to the final bill. The resort’s gift and sundries shop will have groceries available for sale too, but they are typically more expensive and there isn’t as much variety.

7. Grilling-

If you want to prepare a meal at your villa, consider using one of the charcoal grills located around the property. Bags of charcoal can be purchased at the resort’s gift and sundries shop.

6. Laundry –

While this isn’t a top consideration for most guests, it does make life a little easier to have access to a washer and dryer right in your villa. Not only does that mean not having to pack as many clothes in your suitcase, it’s also nice to have the laundry done already when it’s time to go home. The villas with one or more bedrooms all have a washer and dryer in the unit, and a single-use box of laundry detergent. If you’re staying in a Deluxe Studio, you will have complimentary access to the self-service laundry room that’s open 24 hours a day. Dry cleaning services are also available.

5. Housekeeping –

If you’re staying at a Deluxe Villa using Disney Vacation Club points, you will not receive daily housekeeping services. For guests staying fewer than eight days, housekeeping will empty the trash and replace the towels on the fourth day. Guests staying for eight or more days get a full cleaning in the middle of their stay and a” trash and towel day” on the eighth day. Many guests enjoy this schedule as it eliminates the daily intrusion of housekeeping and the inconvenience of having to stay out of the villa until the cleaning is finished. Guests staying at a Deluxe Villa using cash will receive a daily housekeeping visit.

4. Transportation –

The majority of Disney’s Deluxe Villas offer more than one way to travel around the Walt Disney World Resort. While they all offer bus transportation to the parks and Disney Springs, they also allow guests to take a boat, the monorail, or the Skyliner – depending on which resort you choose. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas is the one resort that offers only bus transportation.

3. Ample Space –

If you’ve never stayed in a Deluxe Villa before, you might not realize how spacious these accommodations are. With one or more bedrooms, a living room area, one or more full bathrooms, and a balcony or patio, this is the perfect choice for a family to easily get ready in the morning without bumping into each other. In the evening, guests can choose to watch television or have a bite to eat without disturbing those who are ready for bed.

2. Separate pools –

Guests at Deluxe Villas have the convenience of having access to a separate pool, so there’s never a long walk if you want to cool off. The Villas at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa are the exception; guests staying here use the pool area at the main resort building. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa has a quiet pool in each of the individual areas of the resort, as well as the larger feature pool.

1. Onsite Perks –

Don’t forgot about all the other wonderful perks Disney offers to onsite guests, like extra magic hours, advance FastPass+ reservations, Disney’s Magical Express, and the merchandise delivery service to the resort. These are all available when you stay in a Deluxe Villa and really contribute to what makes staying in these resorts such a smart choice.

I have been a professional writer for over 18 years with degrees in Biology and English. I am a lifelong Disney fan and a Disney Vacation Club member of over nine years. Having visited Walt Disney World several times growing up, I really caught the Disney bug after many trips with my husband. Now I am happily addicted to taking our son to Walt Disney World as often as possible and watching him experience the magic and Mickey Bars as he grows up. Traveling to Walt Disney World twice a year, I enjoy attending the Flower and Garden festival held in the spring and strolling around the World Showcase, as well as exploring all of the hidden gems that all four parks have to offer. I love helping my family and friends plan their next Disney trips based on my experiences. I also enjoy reading, swimming, traveling, and cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers. I grew up in Southwestern Pennsylvania, attended Shippensburg University, and current live in suburban Philadelphia with my husband, son, and two cats.
