A Walt Disney World vacation can be pretty hectic, even if you’ve planned it perfectly. Juggling your time at all 4 theme parks (more if you’re visiting a water park), fitting in everyone’s favorite rides, and leaving time for food, shopping and some downtime can be challenging!  But it’s important to make time in your WDW schedule to see a live show or two – you won’t be disappointed!  There are dozens of live performances to choose from throughout Disney property, including Broadway-style stage shows, a cappella street groups, and stunt shows.  Take a refreshing break from your busy day in the parks, and let yourself be entertained!

7. Finding Nemo – The Musical

This spectacular musical in DinoLand USA at Animal Kingdom is probably our favorite stage show in all of Walt Disney World.  Finding Nemo – The Musical brings all your favorite characters from the animated film to stage as larger-than-life puppets, and the underwater special effects make you feel like you’re part of Nemo’s world.  The original songs are beautiful and memorable, and the whole show is both a visual masterpiece and a heart-felt celebration!

6. Festival of the Lion King

If you loved the animated film, you’ll adore the live show Festival of the Lion King at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!  In only 30 minutes, you’ll be treated to some of the classic songs from the film accompanied by a delightful spectacle of movement, color and audio-animatronics on moving stages.  You’ll laugh as performers in fantastic costumes bounce around performing trampoline tricks, gasp at the death-defying acrobatics performed high above you, and marvel as the stilt walkers show off their dance skills.

5. Voices of Liberty

We just discovered this phenomenal musical group on our last visit to Walt Disney World, thanks to the recommendation of a friend – and we’re sorry we didn’t make the discovery years ago!  Head to The American Adventure Pavilion at Disney’s Epcot for a 15-minute musical experience you won’t soon forget.  Voices of Liberty brings you a capella music ranging from patriotic American tunes to classic Disney songs – and these heavenly harmonies are a treat for the ears as they soar out of the acoustically perfect rotunda.

4. Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage

A tale as old as time awaits at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios.  Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage recreates the magic of the animated film in only 25 minutes!  You’ll hear all of the beloved songs and see all of the classic characters from the movie with costumes, scenery, and vocal and dance performances that will make you feel like you’ve been transported to a Broadway theatre.  No matter how many times we’ve seen this show, we always come back for more!

3. Dapper Dans

You may have been serenaded by them as you entered Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, or heard their dulcet tones as you wandered down Main Street USA.  The Dapper Dans are a 4-man a cappella group (think barbershop quartet, Disney-style!), and they perform familiar and beloved Disney and American tunes (everything from “Zip-a-Dee Doo Dah” to “Yankee Doodle”) at various times throughout the day.  And they definitely are dapper!  They fit right in with the turn-of-the-century theme of Main Street USA, with their straw hats and candy-colored pinstripe suits, and you might find yourself laughing out loud at their endearing puns.

2. Grand Floridian Society Orchestra

If you’re like us, you take every excuse you can get to stop by Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa!  And the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra (yes, that’s right, this resort has a house orchestra) is a wonderful reason for a visit.  Most afternoons and evenings, you’ll be treated to the always impressive musical stylings of this group as they play jazz, ragtime and Dixie tunes – with a healthy dose of Disney songs in the mix!  So sit back and enjoy the extraordinary lavish lobby of Disney’s flagship resort as you’re musically transported to another time.

1. Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!

Indiana Jones fans won’t want to miss the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios.  Meet Marion and Indy himself as they take you behind the scenes of the most spectacular movie stunts of Raiders of the Lost Ark.  There’s plenty of action here, from breath-taking stunts and hand-to-hand combat to villains and explosions.  You’ll be shown how to perform stunts safely, and even watch our heroes fall from a tall building.  Even better, you can actually join the cast!  The casting director will ask for volunteers just before the show, and if you’re chosen, you’ll get to don a costume and become part of the action.
