Recently Walt Disney World announced that Typhoon Lagoon would reopen for the first time since March 2020, and Guests, we’re excited to be able to attend this Waterpark once again. If you wanted to be there on January 11th or 12th, you will have to change your plans.

The official Walt Disney World website calendar says that Typhoon Lagoon will be closed both today and tomorrow (1/11 and 1/12),  and we are assuming it is due to cold weather.

As of now, it is listed as being open on January 13th, 2022, and the hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. according to the website, the rest of the week is open, but of course, that can change anytime.

At this time, Blizzard Beach is closed for refurbishment, so if you were hoping to hit both Water Parks, you would need to wait. There is no reopening date for Blizzard Beach, but we will give that to you as soon as we know something. It is very normal for one Water Park to be closed during the winter months in one to be open. This is just for regular refurbishment.

Outside of Walt Disney World, Aquatica is listed as open today, but double check before heading out. Volcano Bay is currently closed Tuesdays and Thursdays, so that doesn’t have to do with the weather. As of now, Volcano Bay is listed as open tomorrow.

Tomorrow January 12th, is in the mid-70s, so it is strange that they are closed if it is due to weather, but this is Florida, so cold in Florida is different from other places in the country.

You need to visit if you haven’t been to Typhoon Lagoon recently. It is back and better than ever, and this could be the perfect time for you to join in on everything this Water Park has to offer.
