Typhoon Lagoon Closes Again Due to Cold Weather

If you are visiting Walt Disney World, you may expect warm weather all year round. Although we are not as cold as most areas of the country, we can still get some cooler temperatures in the winter months.

It is important to always check the forecast before you leave to plan accordingly and pack any coats you might need.

Although we can visit Water Parks and swimming pools all year around in the Central Florida area, some days, it is still too cold even with heated water.

According to the official Walt Disney World website Typhoon Lagoon is closed today (January 25th) and tomorrow (January 26th) due to cold temperatures.

Today is also a gross rainy day outside, as you can see in the forecast below.

If you’re planning on being at the Parks today, wait times are low so take advantage of that. Even a cold rainy day at Walt Disney World is better than a day at most places. Pack your poncho and an extra pair of socks, and enjoy the day. There are so many indoor attractions that you will be able to escape the weather throughout your day.

If you had your heart set on a Water Park today, you will be sad to find out that both Universal’s Water Park Volcano Bay and SeaWorld’s Water Park Aquatica are also closed today. They have hours listed tomorrow, but the chances are that will change.

We have a week of cooler weather, so expect to have a cold Water Park day even when Typhoon Lagoon reopens. If you’re from up North, maybe this is warm to you, so use your discretion if it is the right time for you to visit a Water Park or not.
