Disney fans are preparing as the D23 Expo at Anaheim, California, is just months away in early September 2022! The exciting news of a new exhibit, which will include Walt Disney’s Grumman Gulfstream I airplane, has Disney fans eager to see the plane up close. But, a new aerial photo shows the plane is still at Walt Disney World Resort.

What’s so special about a plane? Well, this plane, in particular, was the one Walt flew in to explore the Walt Disney World Resort property in Central Florida before creating a masterpiece of a theme park. The plane has since remained on Disney World property and is currently parked near Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park.
With the 2022 D23 Expo fast approaching, Disney has announced the new exhibit of the plane will be called “Mickey Mouse One: Walt’s Plane,” with the brief teaser as shown below:

While we have seen Walt’s plane get a much-needed bath in the days since the announcement to seemingly prepare for its big debut at the D23 Expo, we are surprised to see the plane still hasn’t begun to make its east to west coast move just yet.
A new aerial photo was taken on June 19, 2022, by @bioreconstruct below is noted, “Aerial look at Walt Disney’s plane in storage North of Animal Kingdom. Restored to original livery. It was on display in Disney’s Hollywood Studios where Galaxy’s Edge is now. Walt flew in this plane to plan Walt Disney World. This plane will be in Anaheim in Sept for D23.”

We are sure Disney has a plan to get Walt’s plane moved soon enough, but with roughly 80 days to go until the Expo, it should be getting a move on to be ready for its big moment among Disney fans.
