This year’s D23 Expo is coming up this fall, and some of the biggest presentations at the popular Disney fan event were just announced! Set to take place at the Anaheim Convention Center from September 9-11, 2022, this year’s expo is sure to be a spectacular event as the Walt Disney Company prepares to celebrate its 100th anniversary next year.
D23 just shared the details for this year’s presentations that celebrate achievements like the Disney Legacy Award as well as announcements for what’s coming next for the Walt Disney Company. Here are the presentations that have been revealed so far.
Friday, September 9
The first day of this year’s D23 Expo will kick off with Disney100 at 10:30 a.m. This presentation will honor those who have made memorable contributions to the Walt Disney Company over its 100-year history, and it will include the Disney Legends Ceremony. This year’s Disney Legend award recipients have not yet been announced, but we will be back here with the details as soon as we know more.
During the afternoon at 3:30 p.m., TV, movie, and streaming fans will be treated to announcements on future theatrical and Disney+ releases, as well as titles from Disney Live-Action movies, Pixar Animation Studios, and Walt Disney Animation Studios. Additional details have not yet been confirmed, but studio heads, filmmakers, and cast will be on stage at the event to share all of the exciting news on what’s to come.
Saturday, September 10
Starting at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Guests in attendance will be surprised by appearances from filmmakers and celebrity talent from Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm as well as other productions to share new details on upcoming Disney+ titles. This presentation will share a behind-the-scenes look at new productions as well as exclusive footage shown only at this event.
Disney Branded Television will take over the presentation stage at 3:30 p.m. to share memorable stories and characters from the Disney TV universe along with a showcase of new content that will soon appear on Disney+, Disney Channel, and Disney Junior. This event will include first looks at new productions like the National Treasure, American Born Chinese, and The Santa Claus.
Sunday, September 11
The final day of this year’s expo will feature some of the most exciting announcements from the Walt Disney Company, as the day kicks off at 10:30 a.m. with announcements from Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro. So far, we know announcements will feature upcoming events and attractions at Disney Parks and with Disney Cruise Line, as well as behind-the-scenes looks at what Disney Imagineers are currently working on.
At 4:15 p.m., Guests will enjoy a very special performance of Disney Princess – The Concert, which took place at select venues earlier this year. The concert features performances by a talented lineup of Disney Princesses, including:
- Tony® nominee Susan Egan (Broadway’s original Belle in Beauty and the Beast, Meg in Disney’s animated feature Hercules)
- Broadway.com® Audience Award nominee Isabelle McCalla (Princess Jasmine in Aladdin, The Prom)
- Disney Channel star Anneliese van der Pol (That’s So Raven, Raven’s Home, Broadway’s final Belle in Beauty and the Beast)
- Broadway World Award winner Syndee Winters (Broadway’s Nala in The Lion King, Hamilton).
Very limited numbers of single-day tickets are still available for Friday and Sunday for this year’s D23 Expo, with one-day adult admission running $99 and one-day child admission (ages 3-12) $79. (D23 Gold Members can purchase one-day tickets for $89.
