Disney Star Hit By Drunk Driver, Attacked in Physical Altercation That Followed

A Hollywood star with multiple Disney productions on his resume was recently involved in an auto accident, and the collision led to a heated physical altercation between the actor and the other driver.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, a motor vehicle accident involving two parties occurred on Sunday evening along the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California. Following the collision, a physical altercation erupted between the drivers, but was reportedly instigated by the driver who was responsible for the collision. He was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the car collision.

Actor Wayne Brady, best known as the host of his self-titled prime-time television show, The Wayne Brady Show, and as a contestant on the popular television game show Whose Line Is It Anyway? was confirmed to be involved in the initial collision in Los Angeles with another driver, described as a 51-year-old male.

Following the car collision, Brady and the other involved driver allegedly engaged in a heated argument that eventually turned physical after they pulled over to exchange information related to insurance coverage.

“Wayne is so upset about this incident with a drunk driver. As a father, he was just thankful it was not his daughter or anyone’s child dealing with this,” a source close to the situation said during an interview. “He kept thinking what if it was his daughter.”

Brady, also 51, reportedly called 911 following the altercation with the other driver, but the actor and comedian did not need the services of emergency first responders or ambulance transport to a hospital related to the altercation.

According to PEOPLE, the other driver was charged with a hit-and-run violation, battery, and a DUI following the incident that took place on Sunday night in Malibu. Brady reportedly filed charges against the other driver for battery.

Wayne Brady has enjoyed a decades-long career in Hollywood that has showcased his acting, singing, and comedic talents. He’s known for his voice roles in films like Clifford’s Really Big Movie, Stuart Little 3: Call of the Wild, The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon (a video game title), Nickelodeon’s The Loud House, and Netflix’s The Cuphead Show!

He took on the role of host of the television game show Let’s Make a Deal! in 2009.

For Disney, Brady voiced Clover in the animated series Sofia the First, Don in the “Where’s Pinky?” episode of Phineas and Ferb, Eugene in the Milo Murphy’s Law episode titled, “The Note,” and Stapler Fist in the feature animated Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe.

He also voiced Django in Ratatouille the Musical. He also co-wrote and performed the opening theme song for Disney’s The Weekenders. Brady further guest-starred as Chase Baxter in the sitcom Baby Daddy on Freeform.
