Are you ready to bring Haunted Mansion (2023) home with you? Because ready or not, the ghoulish ghosts are here! The newly released film is inspired by the iconic story from Disney’s classic attraction, Haunted Mansion. The film was released this past summer and, although it had a bumpy start at the box office, seemingly was liked. According to Rotten Tomatoes, the audience score was 84%, while the Tomatometer scored a mere 38%.
Some parts of the film’s marketing promotion helped the movie gain excitement, like a commercial with Jake from State Farm, Haunted Mansion–inspired treats at the Parks, and a gimmick of the Haunted Mansion listing on Zillow. Moreover, it can be argued that the actor’s strike in Hollywood also played a role, as the actors were not allowed to participate in the film’s premiere or any promotions. Excitingly, though, Haunted Mansion has recently hit a milestone at the global box office. As reported by IMDB, “the project has now generated $100 million at the global box office.”
Disney is bringing the new film home for those who missed it on the big screen. Haunted Mansion will be available to stream starting on October 4 on Disney Plus.
