Foolish Mortals
Titled “Welcome Foolish Mortals,” the video is less than two minutes long yet still manages to drum up excitement over the new film. Among the many images shown in the featurette, you can spot the hitchhiking ghosts, the hatbox ghost, and iconic elements from the ride, such as the stretching room and changing portraits.
Many Disney fans are looking forward to the newly adapted film as it appears to be a more serious take on the story than the 2003 movie of the same name.

The featurette treats viewers to clips and snippets of classic images from the attraction and commentary from the cast and crew. Many of the stars and those making the film sound like they are hardcore fans of the Haunted Mansion attraction (probably the Disneyland version and not Walt Disney World, given their California location).
The director Justin Simien says that he wanted the movie to feel like everything “came right off of the ride.” In addition, Jamie Lee Curtis, who plays, Madame Leota described the sets and props as “powerful,” while Rosario Dawson praises the level of detail in the set design.

Clips from the movie sprinkled throughout the featurette further confirm speculation that the film will mix elements of horror and comedy–similar to the actual attraction. Although it’s a delicate balance to achieve such a thing, hopefully, the cast and crew will execute it better than the previous iteration in 2003 starring Eddie Murphy.
Movie Details
