This year in June, the Special Olympics USA Games will be having their opening ceremony in Orlando thanks to Disney Live Entertainment. The announcement was made by the Special Olympics Experience, Osceola County, and Walt Disney World during the Special Olympics USA games head of Delegation conference on Tuesday, which was at Disney’s ESPN Wild World of Sports Complex.

The dates for this incredible event are June 5th, 2022, to June 12th, 2022. This is such a special event for so many incredible athletes and a beautiful way to show their talents and joy of life.
Almost all 50 states were accounted for as well as 11 Caribbean Nations were in attendance for Tuesday’s announcement. These games will host more than 5,000 athletes, and there will be 19 different sports making it the largest USA game to date.

The excitement is building for the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games taking place June 5-12 at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Yesterday, Walt Disney World Resort announced that thousands of athletes, families, and fans in attendance for the games will be treated to legendary entertainment- sprinkled with a little magic- with an exciting Opening Ceremony produced by Disney Live Entertainment.
Disney has a long-standing relationship with Special Olympics, which has included additional sponsorship and in-kind support for the USA Games, as well as staging multiple state and local events at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. As the presenting sponsor of the Volunteer Program for the 2022 Special Olympic USA Games, Disney will also support the families and fans cheering on the athletes this summer with cast members and community volunteers.
Special Olympics USA, Experience Kissimmee and Walt Disney World Resort made the announcement during the Special Olympics USA Games’ Head of Delegates meeting at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
