10. Meet The Big Cheese

When you visit the Magic Kingdom, you absolutely have to make sure that you take time to meet Mickey Mouse, himself. He is dressed as a magician which makes for a great experience for photos – plus a few hugs and autograph!

9. Haunted Mansion

This is definitely one of our favorite attractions at Magic Kingdom. The attraction is fun for the whole family to enjoy and isn’t meant to be as scary of an experience at guests may think at first. The music, scenes, cast members and just everything about the attraction is so much fun and amazing.

8. Space Mountain

If thrill rides are your thing, then you definitely have to check out Space Mountain. The ride is in almost pitch black, so you almost feel like you really are flying through outer space. There are various drops and high speed action racing through the dark that you will definitely be wishing you had another FastPass+ to ride again.

7. Happily Ever After Fireworks Show

The new fireworks show at Magic Kingdom is amazing! The show incorporates video and images of various characters and movies projected on Cinderella Castle as fireworks go off around the castle. You will love the music for the show and the feel good moments as you imagine what your “happily ever after” looks like.

6. Listen to the Dapper Dans

The Dapper Dans are a barber shop quartet that performs on Main Street, U.S.A. at the Magic Kingdom. There are so many guests that breeze past Main Street and miss out on hearing the Dapper Dans perform. They come out throughout the day to entertain guests with their fun songs, sometimes even using unique instruments. You definitely don’t want to miss seeing at least one of their sets.

5. Pirates of the Caribbean

A pirate’s life is definitely for us! This is another attraction that is fun for the whole family. You get to ride through the attraction that inspired the popular movie series starring Johnny Depp. It’s a classic attraction and one that you definitely don’t want to miss. Be prepared to have the “pirate’s life” song stuck in your head for the rest of the day!

4. Ice Cream from Plaza Ice Cream Parlor

As you walk down Main Street, you will notice this old time looking ice cream shop, Plaza Ice Cream Parlor. You definitely have to experience an ice cream there. You can get old time sundaes and other ice cream treats. You can even get them served in a Mickey pants bowl that you can keep! We like to get our ice cream and find a place to sit around Main Street to enjoy them while we wait for the parade or fireworks.

3. Dining at one of the “castles”

Cinderella Castle and Be Our Guest (in Beast’s castle) are among the most popular restaurants in all of Walt Disney World. They are both delicious and unique experiences. It is definitely a good idea to book either of these dining locations at the 180 day mark when reservations first open. Both of the dining experiences also include character appearances with some characters that you can only find at the location. Both locations serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and you will love any of the services!

2. Festival of Fantasy Parade

The parade at Magic Kingdom is performed at least once a day in the afternoon, weather permitting. The parade includes large, impressive floats that feature favorite Disney characters. There is even a huge Maleficent dragon float that breathes real fire. The parade is definitely very Disney and one of the most impressive, magical experiences that you have at Magic Kingdom.

1. Photos in front of Cinderella Castle

You must get your picture taken with you family in front of Cinderella Castle. It is a vacation must and a perfect way to commemorate the time at the park with your family. Be sure to ask the PhotoPass photographer for special Magic Shots that you can also get while posing for pictures in front of the castle.

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
