When heading into the Walt Disney World Parks, you feel like you are packing everything. To help you narrow down what you need in your Disney Parks bag, we will share the ten items that Disney Cast Members recommend Guests always have with them.

These are the ten items that Cast Members wished every Disney Guest had with them when visiting. These items make the day less stressful and the Parks more fun.

10. ID and Payment Method

Even if you have a MagicBand or MagicBand+ that allows you to charge back to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel room, make sure you also have a credit card. Sometimes, Disney technology doesn’t work as smoothly as it should, and you will need another way to pay for your purchases.

If you plan on enjoying a beverage or two during your meal or around EPCOT’s World Showcase, make sure you have your ID. Disney Cast Members are trained to ID everyone when selling alcohol.

Forgetting these items can lead to some frustrating moments in the Parks.

9. First Aid Items

In all four Disney Parks, there are Baby Care centers. Here, you can find first aid stations if you require medical help. To avoid visiting these centers, toss in a small first aid kit. Have items such as bandages packed? Having these with you can help you avoid the long walk out of your way to find a bandaid.

8. Medicine

There is nothing worse than feeling bad while in a Disney Park. Again, you can find a variety of over-the-counter medicine at the Baby Care Centers, but having it with you is so much easier. Make sure you have Tums, ibuprofen, Tylenol, and allergy medicine.

The combination of a new environment and all the excitement can cause the body to feel off. Having some of these items quickly on hand can be extremely helpful.

7. Autograph Book and Large Pen

If you plan on getting autographs throughout your trip, pack your autograph book and pen. You can find these throughout Walt Disney World, but you can also bring them from home.

Think about other creative ways to gather autographs. We have seen frames, stuffed animals, hats, and shirts signed by characters in Disney. Don’t forget to put them in a ziplock bag to keep them dry.

Also, Mickey Mouse and his friends appreciate large pens or Sharpies. Make sure you have some of these to help them as well.

6. Ziploc Bags

Make sure you throw in some Ziploc bags. Cast Members know that it will rain during a Disney vacation. Because of this, it is nice to have plastic bags or Ziplocs to help keep items dry. Bring these to put electronics in during water rides and rainstorms.

They are also suitable for snacks not finished by little ones or dirty items during the day. You never know when these bags can help save the day and keep you organized.

5. Ponchos

Speaking of staying dry. Cast Members recommend that all Guests bring ponchos to the Parks each day. Florida rainstorms pop up suddenly. Because of this, it is nice to have those ponchos in your bag. You can quickly put them on and throw them away once wet.

Ponchos can also be used to keep your stroller and other items dry. Put them over your backpack so everything inside can remain dry during the rain.

4. All the Water

Cast Members want every Disney Guest to bring water into the Disney Parks when they visit. It is so important to stay hydrated throughout the day. There is so much walking that takes place each day. Combine those miles with the heat and humidity; Guests can quickly become dehydrated.

Cast Members want everyone to be safe, and staying hydrated is a big part. Bring your refillable water bottles or have water delivered to your Disney Resort to save money.

3. Phone

Make sure you bring your cell phone to the Walt Disney World Parks. Although most of us won’t forget it, we wanted to ensure it was on the list. Because My Disney Experience is so essential to a Disney vacation, Guests need access to a cell phone while in the Parks.

2. Portable Charger

Because our cell phones are so crucial to our Disney vacation, it is also essential to keep them charged. Having portable chargers packed for everyone as you head to the Disney Parks. Doing this will keep everyone happy and charged throughout the day.

1. Patience

The final thing that all Cast Members want Guests to come with to the Disney Parks is patience. Disney is magical, but that doesn’t mean that things do sometimes go wrong. When this happens, it is important to have grace and be patient. Cast Members work hard each day to help Guests have a magical trip. Be patient when things don’t go as planned during your vacation.

About Steven Wilk

Steven has a complicated relationship with Disney. As a child, he visited Walt Disney World every few years with his family. But he never understood why kids his age (and older) were so scared of Snow White or Alien Encounter. He is a former participant of the Disney College Program (left early…long story), and he also previously worked in Children’s publishing, where he adapted multiple Disney movies and TV shows. He has many controversial opinions about Disney…like having a positive view of Michael Eisner, believing Return of the Jedi is superior to The Empire Strikes Back, and that Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge should have never been built (at least not at Hollywood Studios). Every year for the past two decades, Steven has visited either Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Aulani or went on a Disney Cruise. He’s happy to share any and all knowledge of the Disney destinations (and he likes using parenthesis a lot…as well as ellipses…)
