12) Do Your Research on the Rides

Make sure that before you arrive in Florida that you have a good idea of the different rides and attractions at Walt Disney World. You don’t want to show up at Magic Kingdom and feel overwhelmed, having no idea where to go or what to do. Look at the park maps ahead of time and decide which rides and attractions are the most important for you. Then when you get to Walt Disney World, you can head to your favorite attractions right away.

11) Do Your Research on the Restaurants

Walt Disney World has some amazing restaurants that you will definitely want to check out. Before you arrive, do some research on the different dining options that are available. Remember that menus change, so things may be different than they were the last time you were at Walt Disney World. If you have dietary restrictions, you will want to research even more but don’t worry, most of the restaurants will be able to take care of you. Walt Disney World is great with complying to guests dietary restrictions.

10) Know When the Busy Seasons Are and Aren’t

When you’re planning your trip you should be aware of the time of year that you will be traveling. Some are much more hectic than others. For example, Christmastime and the summer are very crowded times for the parks. Just be aware you will have longer lines and more people around you, but you can still have a great time.

9) Prepare for Bad Weather

Walt Disney World is in Central Florida and sometimes the weather can get pretty messy. If you’re traveling in the summer know that it will be extremely hot and could rain every day of your vacation. Just bring ponchos and plastic bags to keep your stuff dry and have fun. When you come to terms with the fact that you will get wet, you’ll have a much better mindset on your vacation. The storms usually pass quickly, so don’t let a chance of rain ruin your day.

8) Budget

Walt Disney World vacations can get pretty pricey so decide how much you’re willing to spend ahead of time. Then you can see how much you have to spend on souvenirs at the parks. That way you won’t just get shocked at that huge number on your bank statement once you’re home.

7) Make FastPass+ Reservations

No one wants to wait in long lines if they don’t have to, so making FastPass+ reservations for your vacation is a must. You can reserve up to three attractions in advance per day. Walt Disney World resort guests can make the reservations up to 60 days in advance, while non-resort guests can make their reservations up to 30 days in advance.

6) Off Day

If it’s possible, plan an off day for the middle of your vacation. The parks take a lot out of you and it’s sometimes very helpful and much needed to rest a bit. You can use this day to relax out by the pool, or check out some of the other amazing things that Central Florida has to offer.

5) Take Lots of Pictures

Make sure that you take lots of pictures while you’re at Walt Disney World. You’ll want to make these memories last a lifetime and show off to your friends what an awesome time you had. Of course you’ll have to make an album on social media so everyone can see how amazing your vacation was. Consider purchasing Memory Maker so that you’ll have high quality pictures to help you show off even more.

4) Save Room in Your Suitcase for Souvenirs

When you’re packing for your vacation, make sure you save room in your suitcase for some souvenirs to bring back with you, especially if you’re flying. Walt Disney World has a lot of gift shops, and you’re most likely going to buy something while you’re there. You don’t want to be getting ready to head back home, only to discover that you don’t have space for all the fun goodies that you bought in the parks.

3) Pick Up Some Snacks

It’s a good idea to pack some snacks for while you’re in the parks. That way while you’re waiting in line or walking around you can have a quick pick me up without having to spend a lot of extra money. A box of granola bars or something simple like that will do the trick.

2) Stay Hydrated

While you’re running around the Walt Disney World Resort make sure that you stay hydrated. You’re able to get a cup of free ice water at the parks so there is no excuse to not drink enough. It gets hot out there and you’ll be doing a lot of walking, so make sure you take care of yourself.
