Fans are speculating that this year’s D23 Expo sold out its remaining tickets last night during the same timeframe that new Marvel releases were being revealed during the San Diego Comic Con. While a number of new releases were revealed, fans were also given some release dates with no films attached to them and it is possible that those films will be confirmed at D23.

This year’s event did sell out quicker than it has in previous years. As theme park journalist Scott Gustin pointed out on Twitter, this year’s sellout happened with 48 days to go until the event, while in 2019 D23 did not sell out until nine days prior.

The 2022 D23 Expo Presented by Visa is sure to be packed with exciting announcements, panels, and sneak peeks that Disney fans will want to follow along with. The event kicks off with Disney100, which celebrates 100 years of the Walt Disney Company, and will include this year’s Disney Legends Award Ceremony.

The Walt Disney Studios will then share presentations and announcements on upcoming projects from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, and Disney Live Action.

Next, Marvel and Lucasfilm will present, followed by Disney Branded Television, before the weekend concludes with a preview of upcoming experiences that are part of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products.

If you are attending D23, and are planning to visit the theme parks at the Disneyland Resort during your visit, be sure to make reservations. Like each of the Disney Parks at Walt Disney World, both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure continue to require both valid theme park admission and reservations.

Select panels will be livestreamed on D23’s website for fans to follow along with at home, and we will be covering all the major news as it is released from D23 here on DisneyTips. Even if you cannot attend this year’s event, be sure to mark your calendar for those livestreams and check back here for all the latest updates out of the 2022 D23 Expo.
