Disney has released new details about some magical changes coming to tee time at the Magnolia Golf Course within the new year!
Designed by Joe Lee, the Magnolia at the Walt Disney World Resort opened 50 years ago as a compliment to the adjacent Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. The luxury green offers “tee boxes ranging from 5,127 to 7,516 yards from the tips,” making it Disney’s longest golf course.

Of course, the Magnolia Golf Course got its name from the 1,500 magnolia trees growing across the property and offers a world-class experience for Guests looking to sharpen their skills on its 18-hole putting green. What’s more, Disney previously announced renovations to the course to include more realistic contours at an increased scale in order to expand their practice environment.
However, these aren’t the only finishing touches to debut with the all-new course when it re-opens next year. In fact, we now know about a few more magical enhancements which will add a touch of Disney to Guests’ golfing game.

In addition to the golf course’s refreshed, innovative design, Disney plans to rename each of the 18 holes. Soon, 14 of these holes will become available to the public again for Guests to enjoy, with all new names inspired by classic Disney films.
For example, three of the new holes will feature names inspired by Aladdin (1992), Mary Poppins (1964), and The Lion King (1994). Plus, the new marquees will also include uplifting quotes from both Walt Disney as well as Arnold Palmer, whose company Arnold Palmer Golf Management oversees the operation of the Magnolia course.

For instance, the eighth hole, inspired by Disney Pixar’s Up (2009), is now called “Adventure Is Out There.” Moreover, the Coco (2017) inspired hole, “Seize Your Moment” features the Arnold Palmer quote: “Putting is like wisdom – partly a natural gift and partly the accumulation of experience.”
Guests visiting Walt Disney World this month can tee up at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course beginning December 12 during its soft re-opening, and enjoy all 18 newly designed holes in 2023. For more information, click here!
