7. Stay On Property —

One of the best ways to ensure that a Walt Disney World vacation is as magical as possible is by staying on property at a Disney Resort. There are over twenty different options to choose from which are divided into price categories with Deluxe being the most expensive, Value having the best deals, and Moderate falling in the middle. Guests are sure to find a Disney Resort that is perfect for them and can then enjoy recreation, beautiful themes, architecture, landscaping, entertainment, dining, shopping, complimentary Disney transportation, pools, and much more.

6. Book FastPasses —

Guests who want to save time on a Disney vacation should definitely plan ahead and book FastPasses. FastPasses act as reservations which allow guests to visit an attraction or experience at a specific time and enjoy it with little to no wait time. Guests who stay on property at a Disney Resort can book their FastPasses up to sixty days in advance and guests who stay off property can book thirty days in advance. All guests are entitled to book three FastPasses for one park per day in advance and they then can book additional FastPasses once the initial three have been used. Some of the best options to use FastPasses for to save time while in Walt Disney World are Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, Slinky Dog Dash, Avatar Flight of Passage, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Peter Pan’s Flight, Frozen Ever After, Soarin’, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and Expedition Everest.

5. Book Advanced Dining Reservations —

There are countless full service dining locations found throughout Walt Disney World, many of which are so popular with guests that they tend to fully book up well ahead of time. Guests who want to get the most out of their vacations should plan ahead and make Advanced Dining Reservations for the locations that they definitely want to eat in. Advanced Dining Reservations can be made up to one hundred and eighty days in advance and ensure that guests can dine in their locations of choice without getting blocked out or wasting lots of time waiting to be seated as a walk in party. Some of the restaurants which tend to book up the fastest are the California Grill, ‘Ohana, Be Our Guest Restaurant, and Le Cellier Steakhouse.

4. Have A Schedule —

One of the easiest ways to save time while in Walt Disney World is creating a schedule before leaving home. By knowing which park guests plan on visiting each day and where and when their FastPasses and reservations are located, they can immediately head out each morning and start their days without having to waste time formulating a plan.

3. Use Extra Magic Hours —

Guests who stay on property in a Disney Resort are entitled to use Extra Magic Hours which offer special times in the theme parks. Each day one theme parks opens an hour early in the morning and another remains open up to three hours late at night allowing Disney Resort guests access to popular attractions and experiences with much lower wait times and crowds. Guests who want to make the most of their time in the parks should definitely take advantage of Extra Magic Hours to enjoy popular experiences.

2. Early Morning and Late Nights —

Another great way to make the most of a Disney vacation is by visiting the theme parks in the early mornings and late nights. These times tend to be the least crowded since many guests sleep in in the mornings and head home earlier in the night after long days in the parks. Guests who arrive at the theme parks first thing in the morning can enjoy several hours of low crowds before the masses move in and then should plan on returning later on in the evening when other guests have already called it a day. By following these hours, guests are sure to save lots of time that otherwise would have been spent waiting on longer lines!

1. Relax —

Perhaps the best way to ensure a fantastic Walt Disney World vacation is by spending a little time each day relaxing. Constantly exploring the parks in the high heat and humidity can leave guests utterly exhausted. Those who opt to make time each day to relax can recharge and keep energy and spirits high, ensuring a magical time in the parks. Whether it’s lounging by the pool, napping in Disney Resort rooms, or stopping to enjoy a meal in the air conditioning, making a little time to relax each day will help guests get the most out of their Disney vacations!

About Caitlin Kane

Caitlin Kane first started visiting Walt Disney World when she was two years old, and despite spending most of that trip quarantined with the chicken pox she managed to fall in love with the place. Visiting WDW every year since, she especially loves learning all about the history and small details of the parks and eating/drinking her way through the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival each fall. When she's not in Disney, Caitlin lives in New York and spends her time counting down the days to her next trip.
