The Magic Kingdom is the most iconic park at Walt Disney World.  There are so many amazing attractions for guests to experience, but if we had to narrow it down, there are definitely attraction that you won’t want to miss.  Here are the top 8 attractions that you must do in the Magic Kingdom:

8. Big Thunder Mountain – Frontierland

If you are looking to enjoy one of the wildest rides in the wilderness, then you definitely don’t want to miss out on this one.  This is a mine train type of coaster ride that takes you through a series of drops and thrills including a trip through mine tunnels.  This is an attraction that you will want to ride during the day as well as night since the experience is different.

7. Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress – Tomorrowland

This is a classic attraction that Walt Disney fans have to check out.  You get to see the attraction that was on display at the World’s Fair.  It takes guests through the different eras to show how technology has changed throughout the years and give guests hope for what their “great big, beautiful tomorrow” might look like.

6. Splash Mountain – Frontierland

This is a classic attraction featuring Brer Rabbit and all of his friends (and enemies).  It is a log flume water ride where guests experience drops and casual drifting through a variety of different scenes and animatronics.  There is a photo on the ride so you can commemorate the experience during the largest drop.  You will definitely have “Zip-a-dee-doo-dah” stuck in your head for a little bit after you leave the attraction, too!

5. Peter Pan’s Flight – Fantasyland

This has remained one of the more popular attractions at the Magic Kingdom.  Guests love the experience of riding in the ships as they soar over scenes from the animated classic, Peter Pan.  The ride queue is interactive, so at least you can have fun while you wait.  If you are a Peter Pan fan, you definitely can’t miss this one!

4. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – Fantasyland

This attraction is themed after Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and is one of the most unique mine train attractions you will find.  The mine cars rock back and forth on their base as they glide on the track.  Once you enter the mine, you will be surrounded by beautiful gems with the dwarfs singing around you.  The animatronics in the attraction are the newer generation and have a high level of facial detail.  It is easy to see why a FastPass+ reservation is preferred for the attraction so that you don’t spend as much time waiting in line.

3. Pirates of the Caribbean – Adventureland

This is another classic attraction that is a must-experience for all guests.  The popular movie series was created based on the concept of this attraction, so Jack Sparrow and other characters from the films have since been added.  The attraction takes you on a boat ride through scenes as the pirates are invading the city.  It is fun for the whole family and you get to channel your inner pirate!

2. Space Mountain – Tomorrowland

This space coaster is completely indoors and lets you experience what it might feel like to shoot through the stars in outer space.  There are lots of thrilling drops as well as twists and turns in the dark so that you don’t know what to expect.  It has a classic outer space feel and is a fun attraction for older kids and adults.  Unfortunately, shorter riders won’t be able to ride.

1. Haunted Mansion – Liberty Square

This one is definitely one of our favorite attractions.  It is a trip through the spookiest house at Magic Kingdom as you ride in a doom buggy and check out the different ghosts and spooks that live in the house.  It isn’t meant to be a super scary attraction, so even young riders are typically good to ride this one.  You may even pick up a hitchhiking ghost along the way, too!

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
