8 Things You’ll Love About Diamond Horseshoe at Walt Disney World

Diamond Horseshoe is one of the classic locations at Walt Disney World.  If you haven’t dined there before, then you definitely want to check this one out.  Here are 8 things that you’ll definitely love about Diamond Horseshoe:

8. The location.

Magic Kingdom dining locations are extremely popular, and this one is located in a great spot.  You will find it in the Liberty Square area of Magic Kingdom, which is conveniently located toward the center of the park.  If you are huge fan of the Haunted Mansion like I am, then you will love how close it is to go on that attraction before or after your meal.

7. The nostalgia and atmosphere of the restaurant.

I absolutely love the atmosphere of this location, with the western vibe.  The restaurant is set inside of an Old West music hall.  It is has very open feel to it and the western elements fit in perfectly.  We love how laid back it all feels when dining there.

6. It is a lunch and dinner location.

Depending on when you prefer to eat, you can enjoy Diamond Horseshoe for lunch or dinner.  There are different options available during each service, so guests will want to check the menu to see what most strikes their fancy.  The location is also eligible for certain Disney Dining Plans, so if you are on a plan you will also want to take advantage of that, too!

5. All you care to enjoy for dinner service.

At dinner, guests will be feasting on the Saloon Feast!  This is an all you care to enjoy platter of delicious offerings that include Carved Beef Brisket, Smoked Sausage, Citrus-marinated Chicken, Barbecued Pulled Pork, Macaroni and Cheese, harvest Baked Beans, Seasonal Vegetables, Mashed Potatoes, Smoked Chocolate Cake, Graham Cracker-Butter Cream, and Toasted Marshmallow.  The best part is that since it is all you care to enjoy, you can order more of anything that you want!  You definitely want to come hungry for this full meal!

4. There are a variety of options at lunch.

If you visit during lunch, you have a wider options of things to choose from.  There are a variety of sandwiches, salads and platters that are available.  I love the Pulled Pork Sandwich, which is made with tender pork, creamy coleslaw and barbecue sauce, then serviced with cornbread and one of the fix ‘ins choices.  The Cowboy Macaroni is also a favorite of ours, which is creamy macaroni and cheese with smoked beef brisket, plus cornbread and a choice of one of the fix ‘ins.

3. The amazing service.

Walt Disney World is known for the amazing service that is provided by the Disney Cast Members.  This is definitely true at Diamond Horseshoe.  We have always had great experiences when we have visited.  The cast members get into the Western vibe of the restaurant, which makes it extra fun!

2. The location serves alcohol.

This may not be a big deal for some of you, but for those of you who like to have an alcoholic beverage with your meal, this a location where you can do that.  Magic Kingdom doesn’t offer alcohol throughout the park and only at select table service dining locations.  At Diamond Horseshoe there is a collection of beer, cider and wine offerings that are available.

1. The desserts!

I always seem to have a big sweet tooth when at Disney.  Dessert is a great way to finish off the meal, plus you have earned it after all of the walking, right?  I love how simple the desserts are at Diamond Horseshoe.  They are simple, yet delicious.  My favorite is probably the Buttermilk-Chocolate Cake.  It is a slice of chocolate cake with a bourbon sauce!  Delicious!

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
