9 Best Foods For Bacon Lovers At Walt Disney World

While it’s not generally known for bacon, Walt Disney World has a variety of bacon dishes throughout the theme parks and resorts that will thrill even the most dedicated bacon lover in your party.  Some of these foods have subtle hints of bacon, and some are clearly all about the bacon!  There are some surprising sweet options, and even one for vegans.  So, for all things bacon at Walt Disney World, read on!

9. Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup

Our first bacon offering is well known to Walt Disney World foodies.  The Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup at Le Cellier Steakhouse in the Canadian pavilion is simply one of the best food items in Epcot!  The applewood-smoked bacon combines with the rich, cheesy flavor (and the Moosehead Beer undertones, of course!) for a taste that can’t be beat.  You’ll see the bacon sprinkled on top of the soup, but it’s actually throughout the soup as well, for a thoroughly bacon-y experience.

8. Maple Bacon Fig Manhattan

We were impressed with Flying Fish at Walt Disney World’s BoardWalk even before its elegant renovations.  There’s a lot to love about the setting and the menu, but bacon lovers will specifically gravitate to one signature drink: the Maple Bacon Fig Manhattan.  We love this unique concoction with honeyed figs and candied bacon, and of course, the combination of maple and bacon in any form is just delightful!  The inclusion of whiskey and amaro is, of course, an added bonus.

7. Double 1/3 lb Angus Bacon Cheeseburger

Restaurantosaurus in Animal Kingdom is just plain fun for paleontology lovers!  But did you know it’s also a great place for bacon aficionados?  We found the Double 1/3 lb Angus Bacon Cheeseburger to be surprisingly good here, especially for a counter service restaurant, and the bacon was perfectly crispy, exactly the way we like it.  Insider tip – try asking for a second bun for free, and then you can split the burger and turn it into a meal for two bacon lovers!

6. King Whoopie Pie

This dessert’s predecessor, the King Cupcake, was hugely popular with guests – but we’re definite fans of the subsequent King Whoopie Pie at Everything Pop (Pop Century Resort’s counter service restaurant).  Inspired by Elvis Presley, the King Whoopie Pie has a dark chocolate base, and deliciously light peanut butter filling.  If you loved the King Cupcake, fear not – the signature bacon from that dessert remains unchanged here, leaving a delicious sweet-and-salty impression.

5. Open-Faced Bacon and Egg Sandwich

We tend to rave about Be Our Guest Restaurant in the Magic Kingdom, and if you’ve ever dined here, you’ll know why.  There’s very little NOT to love here, and we especially enjoy eating breakfast here before a big day in the parks.  If you’re doing the same, try the Open-Faced Bacon and Egg Sandwich.  It’s served on a croissant, with brie, and though there are several meat options here, this is our favorite breakfast for carnivores!

4. Maple Bacon Donut

We love it when we find amazing Walt Disney World desserts that feature bacon!  You’ll find this one at Roaring Fork, at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.  And trust us, the photos online don’t do it justice!  The Maple Bacon Donut itself tastes vaguely Krispy-Kreme-esque, but the magic lies in the combination of the caramelized maple and the yummy bacon sprinkled on top.  You’ll happily crunch away, and may even go back for seconds!

3. Maple Bacon Popcorn

And if you need even more maple bacon magic (and who doesn’t?), you’re in luck.  We’ve tried a ton of popcorn flavors from Disney Main Street Popcorn over the years, and there is now a fantastic Maple Bacon Popcorn available throughout Walt Disney World property, part of the same line.  Even better: it’s pre-packaged, so if you’re looking for a perfect gift for that bacon lover back home (or even a sweet souvenir for yourself!), it’s easy to transport.

2. Clothesline Candied Bacon

Disney Springs is also home to an amazing new location that brings wonderful food, specialty cocktails, and live entertainment to life in an area designed with an industrial steampunk feel. The Edison is very popular with guests and those who love bacon will absolutely adore a shareable option that is so good they won’t want to share! The DB ‘Clothesline Candied Bacon’ features strips of sweet and smoky candied bacon hanging artistically from a clothesline. The unique snack is served with maple, black pepper, and a sour pickle making it a wonderful option for bacon lovers.

1. (Vegan) Bacon Cheeseburger

Alright, you caught us – we snuck a vegan item into a list for bacon lovers.  But we think that even vegans should be able to enjoy a great bacon dish at Walt Disney World!  Thankfully, Ale & Compass at Disney’s Yacht Club has a variety of vegan dishes, including an out-of-this-world Bacon Cheeseburger that uses Benevolent Bacon from Sweet Earth, and of course vegan-friendly burgers and cheese.  Not only is this dish delectably savory and smoky, it’s also packed with protein – even if there is no actual bacon in sight!

About Jason Dick

Jason is a Disney addict. Walt Disney World trips are an annual occurrence that his partner has had to come to terms with. In between Disney trips, he spends his time running the theatre company he started in 2007. As Artistic Director, he picks musicals to bring to his hometown of Hamilton, Ontario Canada that have never been produced in the area. Traveling is definitely a passion and in addition to his trips to the happiest place on earth, he and his partner also travel the world, most recently to India and Nepal. A carnivore by nature, Jason loves the incredible amount of steakhouses Walt Disney World has to offer - they are always at the top of his list for each and every visit.
