Visiting Walt Disney World Resort is magical, but let’s be honest—the Central Florida heat can be intense! Between long park days, miles of walking, and that signature swampy humidity, guests often look for ways to cool down.

Luckily, Walt Disney World Resort is packed with attractions, splash zones, and water parks where you can beat the heat while still having fun. Whether you’re after a thrilling drop, a gentle splash, or a full-on water adventure, there are plenty of ways to stay refreshed during your trip. Here’s where you can make a splash during your next Disney Parks vacation.

1. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom

Replacing the former Splash Mountain, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened on June 28, 2024, and instantly became one of the most talked-about attractions at Walt Disney World Resort. This ride takes guests deep into the Louisiana bayou, celebrating the music, food, and culture inspired by The Princess and the Frog (2009).

Expect big splashes and plenty of laughter as you make your way toward the famous drop. The new theming brings a lively storyline, advanced animatronics, and upbeat tunes that keep guests smiling from start to finish.

Like its predecessor, this ride can leave you absolutely soaked—perfect on a hot Florida day.

Pro tip: Sit toward the front if you really want to get drenched.

2. Kali River Rapids at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park

If your family loves water rides, Kali River Rapids is a must-do. This circular raft ride winds through rushing rapids and misty jungles, with storytelling that highlights illegal logging and dramatic smoke effects.

You’ll never know who in your raft will get the biggest splash—sometimes it’s everyone! It’s one of the wettest rides at Walt Disney World Resort, so plan ahead if you don’t want to spend the afternoon in soggy clothes.

3. Disney Resort Pools

Every Disney Resort hotel offers a themed pool, and many of them are destinations in themselves. From pirate ships to giant waterslides, these pools are the perfect mid-day break.

Disney’s Beach Club Resort features Stormalong Bay with a lazy river, sand-bottom pool, and shipwreck slide. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort offers the Lava Pool, which includes a towering volcano and a 142-foot waterslide.

Even the Value Resorts, like All-Star Resorts and Pop Century, have fun, oversized themed pools. Don’t forget—pools are heated year-round so you can enjoy them no matter the season.

Note: Guests can only use the pool at their Disney Resort hotel, and will need a MagicBand or room key to access the pool area.

4. Casey Jr. Splash’ N’ Soak Station at Magic Kingdom

Located in Fantasyland, this interactive water play area is designed for little ones, but adults often join in the fun, too.

Circus-themed animals spray water, allowing kids to run, splash, and cool off. Parents love it as a safe spot for children to burn energy while enjoying the Magic Kingdom.

Bring a change of clothes, or let kids wear swimsuits under their outfits if you plan to stop here.

5. Spitting Camel in Adventureland

This one is more of a surprise splash than a planned soaking. Near the Magic Carpets of Aladdin, a camel statue occasionally sprays water at guests.

Kids love standing in the right spot to “get spit on” by the camel. Adults passing by sometimes aren’t as thrilled…

6. Jumping Fountains at EPCOT

Found near the Imagination Pavilion, these playful fountains surprise guests by shooting water in unpredictable arcs from one pad to another.

Children love running back and forth, trying to catch the streams without getting soaked. It’s a perfect place to pause, cool off, and have fun between attractions.

7. Splash Pads at Disney Springs

Disney Springs isn’t just about dining and shopping—it’s also home to a perfect, kid-friendly splash zone.

The main splash pad is near Earl of Sandwich and Once Upon a Toy in the Marketplace area. Parents can grab a snack or drink nearby while little ones cool down.

Note: the Disney Springs splash pad is only open seasonally.

8. Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana at EPCOT

One of EPCOT’s recent additions, Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, is an interactive exploration trail inspired by Disney’s Moana (2016).

Families can stroll through lush pathways while engaging with playful water effects. Mist zones, interactive streams, and gentle fountains offer both fun and learning opportunities. It’s a hands-on way to experience the water cycle, making it as educational as it is refreshing.

Note: Swimwear is not allowed in this attraction.

9. Disney’s Water Parks: Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon

When it comes to cooling off, nothing compares to Disney’s water parks. Disney Resort hotel guests even get free entry on check-in day!

Blizzard Beach features snowy theming, thrilling slides like Summit Plummet, and a relaxing lazy river. Typhoon Lagoon offers a tropical paradise with North America’s largest wave pool and the family-friendly Crush’ n’ Gusher water coaster.

Note: Disney’s Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon Water Parks are rarely open simultaneously. For updated information, check the Walt Disney World Resort website or the My Disney Experience app.
