Traveling with the family to Walt Disney World Resort? Chances are you’ve planned, budgeted, and checked off every last detail to experience the most magical vacation ever. But, as glorious as a Disney trip is, sometimes parents (and kids) need a little break. This unknown spot at Disney often goes overlooked, but is one all parents and kids will love!

Magic Kingdom Park is THE Disney Park to enjoy with a growing family. From ages 0 to 99, the number of attractions and experiences perfect for all ages are vast at Disney’s most popular Park. With entertainment such as the Festival of Fantasy Parade, Disney Enchantment nighttime spectacular, and attractions from rollercoasters to boat rides – there is no shortage of stuff to do.
But, one of the BIGGEST mistakes a family can make is pushing young ones to a point that typically ends with a full-on meltdown. It’s extremely hot in Central Florida and children not only feel exhausted from the heat but also the stimulations around every corner of the Park.
If there is one experience we as parents recommend all to other parents. It’s a spot that truly isn’t a secret but is typically completely unknown or forgotten about. Head on over to Fantasyland’s Storybook Circus where the iconic Dumbo The Flying Elephant awaits.
Of course, everyone should take a moment to ride the classic Dumbo The Flying Elephant attraction, but it’s what’s INSIDE the circus tent that holds the attraction that really gets our attention!
Before your flight with Dumbo (or really at any time of the day you’d like), you can enter the massive air-conditioned big-top tent to find a unique indoor playground. That’s right – an air-conditioned play area in the heart of Fantasyland!
At least once during a Magic Kingdom Park day, we’d highly recommend parents take their children to explore this playground. Inside, parents will find seats to relax while their child runs free and enjoys the slides, tunnels, and making friends with other young ones.
This is a chance to not only let your kids have their moment of freedom out of your hand’s grip but also sit back and relax as you watch them grin from ear to ear. Plus, if you want to ride Dumbo, you can sit in this air-conditioned area until it’s your time to board your elephant flight.
The best part however is that no Dumbo riding is actually required, so you can come and go from the playground as you please, as long as the playground is not filled to capacity.
This little-known playground is a family favorite secret spot of ours that we have enjoyed time and time again to keep the meltdowns to a minimum for kids, mom, dad, grandparents, and guardians. Enjoy this time of rest on your next Magic Kingdom day!
