County records have revealed a Disneyland property retail location was recently closed by the Environmental Health Division of the Orange County Health Care Agency due to rodent infestation… and no, we’re talking about Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse!
The Orange County Register notes that a “major rodent infestation of a Disneyland shop left vermin droppings in a sales area and forced the closure of a food facility at the Anaheim theme park.”

After inspection, the Disneyland shop was closed on Friday, July 29, 2022, by the Environmental Health Division of the Orange County Health Care Agency. The health inspector found rodent droppings in both the storage room and the front sales area of the Disneyland shop.
The report does not name which Disneyland shop was closed other than it was identified as “Disneyland Guide 2,” which could be located at Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure.
The inspection found “imminent health hazards” caused by the rodent infestation, which was located at the retail location but included a “critical food area.” The retail and food facility is reportedly not a restaurant location.

Disneyland has since removed all signs of rodent infestation and cleaned the areas thoroughly to be free from pests. According to the report, Cast Members removed all prepackaged food and beverages, halting sales of such products until the issue was resolved.
After its closure on July 29, “Disneyland Guide 2” was quick to reopen on Monday, August 1, 2022, and has already experienced a follow-up inspection to look for signs of remaining rodents.

Further news of the follow-up inspection has not been revealed, but there are currently no Disneyland shops closed which is likely a good sign that the “Disneyland Guide 2” is back in working order without the rodent problem.
If Disneyland’s squad of feral cats wandering the Disney Park is true, hopefully, the cats will get to work so this issue doesn’t occur again!
