Disney’s iconic attraction Haunted Mansion had a special visit this past weekend. Both in Disneyland and Disney World, this ride is special to all Disney fans. The attraction inspired the first film ‘Haunted Mansion’ (2003), starring Eddie Murphy. Disney is releasing a reboot coming to theatres on July 28, 2023, directed by Justin Simien. To promote the film, Disney has devised some unique ways to get fans excited about the new film.

In Disneyland this past weekend, Guests were surprised by three actors in the up-and-coming film. Jamie Lee Curtis, LaKeith Stanfield, and Owen Wilson got to be honorary Cast Members for the day. Decked out in the Cast Member uniforms, the three actors greeted the Guests and took them on the ride.

Actors Surprise Guests at Haunted Mansion

As shown in the video below and on Instagram, Guests were shocked when first greeted by Jamie Lee Curtis, who plays Madam Leota in the film. They are then next surprised by Owen Wilson as they walk through the queue to ride. Owen Wilson says, “I think people are surprised I’m not actually a talking car.” Wilson plays Kent in the film, who then passes the Guests off to Stanfield, giving them one last fright. Stanfield, who plays Ban Mathias, shocks the Guests before they embark on their haunted journey in their buggies.

The actors joke with Guests and each other throughout the frightful experience. At the end of the clip, Curtis insists on riding the attraction before they wrap up their duties. Wilson and Stanfield respond with fear saying, “Let’s not and say we did.”

‘Haunted Mansion’

The film release is only a few more days away, and Disney hopes this one will be more successful than the original. Like the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction made into a film, ‘Haunted Mansion’ was transformed into a movie. Unlike the success of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ (2003), ‘Haunted Mansion’ starring Eddie Murphy, didn’t do as well as Disney hoped. “There is still plenty of humor laden within the trailers, but it seems as though the PG-13 rating and the first look hint at a film that will bank more on scares,” Inside the Magic reported.
