Many people experience frustrations when visiting Walt Disney World Resort. Whether it’s caused by the weather, the crowds, or ride breakdowns, there’s only so much Disney can do. Despite the company and theme Park’s best efforts, sometimes things don’t always go flawlessly. But most reasonable people don’t escalate their frustrations to assaulting a Cast Member.

The Ride Breakdown
According to an arrest report from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, on May 30 of this year, 39-year-old Seth Davis visited the EPCOT theme Park with his family. While waiting for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, the ride broke down, and Park Guests were asked to exit the line. However, a Cast Member claimed that Davis became “verbally aggressive.” It escalated quickly, with the Cast Member calling a manager for help.

After the manager arrived, Davis continued to shout and demand Lightning Lane passes for him and his family. Then when the manager attempted to scan Davis’s passes, their tablet could not read them. According to the report, the Cast Member went to get another tablet, which only angered Davis even more. The result? Davis smacked the tablet from the manager’s hand, forcing her (the Cast Member’s) hand to bend back and hit her rib cage. The manager quickly alerted Disney security, and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office was immediately called.

The Cast Member was taken to a local hospital, where she was treated for hand and rib cage injuries. According to the police report, Davis waved his Miranda rights and told his side of the story (without an attorney). However, his story didn’t seem to differ much from the version provided by the Cast Member and two additional witnesses. As such, Davis was arrested and taken to the Orange County Jail on battery charges. Davis has pleaded not guilty and is being represented by a public defender.
