Character meet-and-greets are continuing to reopen around Walt Disney World, with many of these new and returning experiences making their way onto the Genie+ lineup.
Earlier today, we reported that Star Wars: Launch Bay, and the character meet-and-greet locations inside, would soon be included on Disney Genie+ beginning July 17, 2022. Now, it seems Disney had made another update to its official website, removing information indicating that these Star Wars offerings would be available on Genie+.
Disney Genie+ allows Guests to purchase the service for $15 per person, per day, plus tax, to use Lightning Lane (aka the new, paid version of FastPass+) to enter attractions without waiting in the standby line. The service covers multiple attractions in each Disney Park, and is in addition to select attractions that operate as individual Lightning Lane purchases, like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
The attractions available as part of Genie+ are always subject to change, and everything on the list is subject to availability. The interesting part of Disney removing Star Wars: Launch Bay from the Genie+ list is that the attraction had not even reopened yet and Guests can only purchase Genie+ on the day of their visit anyway.
Earlier this week, Disney updated its official website to indicate that additional Annual Passes would once again be available for purchase, only to quickly remove those offerings within about an hour. We have also recently seen Disney remove select attractions from their website altogether, including Voyage of the Little Mermaid at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Whether these instances were all issues on the website, or whether these changes are all coming soon and Disney posted them prematurely we cannot say for sure, but it certainly has been an odd week with lots of updates and takebacks from Disney.
We always recommend confirming all of your plans for an upcoming trip to Walt Disney World in the My Disney Experience app, but if we catch any more changes to the Genie+ lineup (or other potential errors or updates from Disney’s website) we will be sure to share them here on DisneyTips.
