At the Very Beginning of Christmas Week, Walt Disney World Standby Lines Are Already Consistently Long

Did you know that Christmas week is one of the worst times to visit Walt Disney World? It’s true! The week of Thanksgiving, Christmas week through the week of the New Year, and the first couple of weeks of August are some of the worst times of the year to visit Walt Disney World. This is when the crowds are at their craziest, and this year is no different.

Despite this year’s Christmas week showing surprisingly high Park Reservation availabilities regardless of historic trends, the lines across Walt Disney World Resort have been incredibly high today. Whether visiting Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, or EPCOT, each Disney Park now offers incredibly popular attractions, making it difficult to experience everything during this popular time of year.

Before noon on Monday, December 19, five key attractions across Walt Disney World showed a wait time of at least two hours.

In Animal Kingdom, Flight of Passage had a standby wait of 160 minutes (two hours and 40 minutes). Nearby, the Na’vi River Journey showed a wait time of 105 minutes (one hour and 45 minutes). EPCOT’s Test Track attraction also showed a wait time of 105 minutes, while Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure showed a two-hour wait time.

Unsurprisingly, Hollywood Studios was the Disney Park with the most extended lines this morning. In Toy Story Land, Slinky Dog Dash showed a standby wait time of 150 minutes, as did the popular Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror showed a wait time of two hours, and the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge attraction Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run showed a standby wait time of 115 minutes.

In short, if you’re considering spending the holidays at Walt Disney World this year, be prepared to wait in lengthy lines and experience fewer attractions than usual!
