Disney character interactions are an aspect of the Parks that Guests treasure. Fans line up for their chance to meet their favorite Disney personalities, obtain autographs, and give hugs at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort.
After the pandemic hit, it took a while for Disney Parks to bring back all the elements involved in a heartwarming meet-and-greet. As signs of COVID-19 disappeared in the Resorts, Guests were back to enjoying what they knew and loved pre-pandemic.
But what happens when Disney Park experiences don’t go as planned? Recently, we reported an incident where a Disney Cast Member had to exit a Main Street Electrical Parade train vehicle in the middle of the show.
Yesterday, we shared a clip from Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular in Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios, showing that a prop did not appear on queue, causing Cast Members to intervene in the production. A new video has surfaced on TikTok, posted by @_disney._stuff_, featuring an unusual character interaction between Peter Pan, Captian Hook, Wendy, and Guests of Disneyland Resort.
The beloved characters from Neverland asked surrounding children if they wanted to play hide and seek. Peter says he’ll count to ten, and Captain Hook runs away to hide.
But, on the way, it appears Hook accidentally runs into a child. Although the little one is not shown in the video, characters and adults can be seen rushing to his aid. Peter and Wendy console Captain Hook, who looks shaken, covering his mouth.
Eventually, the Captain makes a strange gesture. He covers his eyes with his hands and the trio suddenly excuses themselves from the interaction, abruptly leaving the area.

According to the video, “When a character puts their hand over their eyes, it is a signal that they have a problem and need to leave the situation.” This can be confirmed by a video posted on TikTok by former Disney Cast Member, @sarahdanielstv.

We’re not sure why the characters left. Perhaps they felt bad that they hurt the child, or maybe they needed to file an incident report. Whatever the case, it’s interesting to learn how Disney handles situations like this in the Parks!
