Is it ever too soon to begin the holiday season? Christmas in June brings us halfway to the holidays, and Disney is ready to celebrate! Celebrating any holiday in Disney fashion is always more than you expect it to be. The Disney Parks go all out for Halloween and Christmas, nearly transforming the Parks overnight. For Halloween, the Parks become a fall foliage exploration, and for Christmas, they are transformed into a winter wonderland. Whether you are in Disney World, Disneyland, or across the sea on a Disney cruise ship, you can experience all the holiday fun.
In previous years, Disney has decorated each Park differently to celebrate the holidays. In Disney’s Hollywood Studios, “Hollywood Holiday Tower Hotel on Sunset Boulevard comes to life (also alternating with Beacon of Magic) with projection effects that magically transform it.” Similarly, Disneyland transformed The Haunted Mansion into Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993).

With Halfway to the Holidays returning, you can begin your involvement in the magic this summer. From June 13-15, 2023, celebrate with Disney as they unleash new treats, surprises, and holiday fun. To prepare, the Disney Parks Blog is “kicking off with our Halfway to the Holidays Foodie Guide.” If you are visiting Walt Disney World, Disneyland, or traveling on a Disney Cruise, there are options for all! If you are visiting California, Downtown Disney has some delicious options too!
While none of these are included in the Disney dining plan, as it does not start until January 2024, that is not to say the holidays after the beginning date will not be included. The Disney dining plan can be used in the theme Park, as well as Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Springs.

Halfway to the holidays is the first of many opportunities Disney creates to bring all the holidays to life. If you can’t visit the Parks during the beginning of the celebration, stay tuned for the continuation into the holiday season!
A fun suggestion is getting a Park Hopper in Walt Disney World, to see all the holiday decorations have to offer in each Park. Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT go all out, and it is a sight to see! The Disney hotel, including Downtown Disney, Disneyland Resort, and Disney Springs gets in on the action, too. Experiencing Disney holidays for the first time or the 100th is worth it every time!
