The lovable duo, Chip and Dale, have added some festive holiday details to their usual costume outfits in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park.
Chip and Dale, a mischievous and adorable chipmunk pair, first made their Disney debut in 1943’s Private Pluto. However, as the appearance was uncredited, the two did not receive their names (a pun on the surname “Chippendale”) until later. Later, they would go on to antagonize, and sometimes befriend, both Mickey’s pet Pluto and his best friend, Donald Duck, in many a Disney short.
Today, you can meet Chip and Dale at many of the Disney Parks across the world, as they’re extremely popular with fans globally. For example, in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, the two host a meet-and-greet with Guests as part of Donald’s Dino-Bash!
You’ll find a full description of the special event from the Disney World website below:
Join Donald Duck and friends for a prehistoric party over 200 million years in the making. Donald Duck just heard the news—some of his feathered ancestors were dinosaurs! To mark this inquackable discovery, he’s transformed this land into a celebration for the ages. He’s also unearthed more old friends than Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park has ever seen before—including Donald, Daisy and Pluto. You can even catch Chip ’n Dale—sporting some nutty dino-inspired costumes.
Unfortunately, the Dino-Bash event closed to the public in 2020 during the Covid-19 shutdown at the Walt Disney World Resort, and character meet-and-greets only returned recently.
As a result, with the return of Donald’s Dino-Bash in September, Chip and Dale reappeared in their dinosaur costumes to interact with happy Guests. What’s more, the costumes are so popular with Guests they’ve even spawned a line of darling merchandise!
Now, the holidays are here and Disney’s Animal Kingdom is celebrating them with a Winter Wonderland. In fact, those “nutty costumes” just got a whole lot nuttier… or merrier!
In addition to Animal Kingdom Park’s Merry Menagerie, Chip and Dale’s holiday outfits have made a comeback as well! You can see them in this Instagram post from Disney Character Central, and a Reel posted by @mouse.ear.memories:
