It’s been an unnerving few days for Florida residents. Once Tropical Storm Ian has turned into Hurricane Ian and is threatening to hit Florida’s west coast as a potential Category 4 hurricane. Walt Disney World Resort isn’t waiting to begin its list of cancellations.
As shown in the latest video option below, one model shows Hurricane Ian making landfall near Tampa, Florida, late Wednesday (September 28, 2022) evening into early Thursday morning (September 29, 2022). The hurricane then heads north through the Sunshine State, showing an impact on the Central Florida area, which Walt Disney World Resort calls home:

We previously shared a list of current closures for Walt Disney World Resort, including select Resorts and experiences. And while Disney has not notified its Guests of any Park closures yet, it has talked about closure plans and paused all Disney Resort hotel bookings.

Now, adding to the list of cancellations, Disney has closed Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, stating, “Performances of Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue have been canceled Sept. 28-30 in light of the temporary closure of Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Guests with pre-paid reservations will be automatically canceled and refunded.”

In addition to the Hoop-Dee-Doo news, Disney is also closing its new Resort Hotel experience, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. Reports note, “Hurricane Ian Update: The Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Will Be Closed Through Sept. 30th.”
In addition to Walt Disney World Resort closures, Disney has also released a statement for its Disney Cruise Line.
