Many Guests who have visited a Disney Park recently have felt that the Cast Members were not as magical as they used to be. One Guest, in particular, took to social media to express her thoughts. She explains that she will be ‘Taking a break’ from visiting Disney Parks due partly to her experiences with Cast Members and their customer service.
A former Cast Member replied to the video, expressing the point of view of a Cast Member who has recently worked at a Disney Park.

It’s no secret that the COVID-19 pandemic changed everything. Every aspect of our lives was affected, including Walt Disney World. Certain policies and operations have changed, and more safety measures had to be taken than ever.
It’s also no secret that most people detest change, especially when it affects a place as magical and expensive as Walt Disney World.
In her video, TikTok user @the3.mouseketeers explains that many Guests took out their frustrations regarding these changes on the Cast Members who were doing their jobs, contributing to a negative work environment. She also discusses what it’s like to be a Cast Member in a post-Covid world.

The TikTok is incredibly disheartening, and most unfortunate at all is not very surprising to hear. Whether visiting a Disney Park or arriving to work as a Cast Member, many people who frequent Walt Disney World Resort feel that Guest behavior has suffered significantly since the pandemic.
Videos of Guests fighting with other Guests, taking extreme measures to ensure their personal belongings aren’t stolen, and exhibiting overall selfish behavior seem to surface all over social media nowadays. So much so that Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort have both begun issuing warnings regarding courtesy.

Will Guest behavior improve now that more warnings have been issued? Unfortunately, only time will tell.
One of the surefire ways to see an improvement in Guest behavior is to be the change we want to see. Being extra polite and understanding to Cast Members and other Guests is a great way to improve somebody’s day and the Disney Park’s environment overall.
