Difficult news to share as the Disney entertainment industry lost the talented Billy Kametz last week on June 9, 2022, at the young age of 35.
According to Billy’s obituary, Billy had dreamed of becoming an actor since early childhood. He landed his big break when Disney picked him up on the entertainment staff with the Disney Cruise Line. Billy later moved to California, where he was offered the starring role as the classic Disney character Aladdin in the Aladdin Musical Spectacular in Disney’s California Adventure at Disneyland Resort.

Billy was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in April 2022. His bright spirit shines through in the video below as he shared a health update on April 26, 2022, in which he was ready to fight cancer:
Sadly, despite “fighting like hell,” Billy Kametz passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at M.S. Hershey Medical Center.
Not only was Billy known for his Disney entertainment, but he was also a popular voice actor and well known for many roles among anime fans. You can hear Billy as several characters such as Josuke in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Ferdinand von Aegir in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Galo in Promare, Rui in Demon Slayer, White Blood Cell in Cells At Work, Osomatsu in Mr. Osomatsu, Dr. Maruki in Persona 5 Royal, and Naofumi in The Rising of the Shield Hero which he won the Crunchyroll Award for Best Voice Actor Performance.

Billy’s obituary notes, “Anyone who has met Billy will tell you he is one of the most sincere, humble and loving people they have ever met. His infectious personality and smile always lit up a room with so much joy and happiness. Billy always left a positive impression on anyone he came in contact with. His love for his family, friends and girlfriend was always most important to him and that love will carry on forever.”
Our thoughts are with Billy’s family including his parents and girlfriend, Erica Lindbeck. Billy’s talents and bright personality will be greatly missed.
