A popular theme park influencer recently stirred controversy with an outfit she wore to Magic Kingdom Park. Mary Rose of the Liven Family, who have more than five million followers on TikTok, recently responded to a comment calling her Walt Disney World Resort outfit inappropriate for the family-friendly theme park’s dress code.
The Disney dress code went viral in 2022 when some TikTok influencers started a trend by intentionally violating Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort’s attire policies to get free shirts. The practice spread like wildfire, eventually leading to a crackdown on Disney cast members giving away clothing to guests violating the theme park dress code.
Although the Disney dress code trend has died down, Disney Parks fans are always discussing proper theme park attire. The Liven family responded after a TikTok user commented, “Sorry but that’s not appropriate for Disney it’s a kid friendly place!” on a video of Mary Rose at Magic Kingdom Park:
@livenfamily Replying to @Sjnews her outfits are appropriate? 💜😂 @MaryRoseLiven #livenfamily #maryroseliven #liven
Another user commented, “@DisneyParks, you approve of this?” which led to her boyfriend, Damon, responding with a more serious video:
@livenfamily Replying to @Bianca Amen people are jealous what do yall think!? 🙄💜 #couples #livenfamily #maryroseliven #liven #disney #ootd @MaryRoseLiven
“Approve of what?” Damon asked. “Guys, we’re literally just wearing our clothes and just having a good time…I don’t understand why people are so mad about her shorts… They’re just OQQ biker shorts…Her outfit has gotten compliments all day from people and the cast members.”
Most Disney Parks fans agreed that Mary Rose’s outfit didn’t violate the theme park’s dress code–of course, if it did, security would’ve refused her entry to Magic Kingdom Park.
“There is nothing inappropriate at all!!!” @Savannahkitty3 wrote.
“People need to leave you alone,” said @originalglamfairy. “They’re cute shorts and it’s 1,000 degrees!”
“There’s people who get ACTUALLY dressed coded, she’s fine,” @hannahdominguez07 agreed.
