Many Disney fans particularly love character meet-and-greets, even trying “collect” photos and/or signatures of some of Disney Parks more exclusive characters. Moreover, one event is known for its to-die-for encounters with some of the rarest and never-before-seen iterations of classic and beloved Disney characters. Disney has just announced 2023 Moonlight Magic dates for this extra special After Hours event!
The Moonlight Magic event is a free soiree offered after Park hours to select Guests at both the Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. Typically, the night includes a “take-over” of one of the Disney theme parks for complimentary treats and eats, shorter wait times for some of the most popular attractions, unique entertainment, and of course, exclusive Character meetings, either for rare icons or familiar faces like the Fab Five decked out for a particular theme.

In fact, Characters featured can often include lesser-seen figures, such as now-retired 90s characters, iconic Disney villains, or even the more obscure ones, such as protagonists from Meet the Robinsons (2007) or Stitch and his cousins as seen in Lilo and Stitch the Series in the early 2000s. This year, expect Disney Parks to pull out all the stops as part of the 100 Years of Wonder Celebration, which culminates a century of Disney inspiration and even honors the “Wonder of” some of the most beloved Disney characters of all time throughout 2023.
Plus, the After Hours spectacular will take place across various Parks and Resorts during different months, meaning there may be something new each time you attend! If you’re ready to step into the Moonlight Magic, here is Walt Disney World’s 2023 event date schedule: at EPCOT Park, Moonlight Magic Hours will occur on February 8 and February 15, with the event coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 11 and September 13.

Furthermore, Guests can visit Typhoon Lagoon for Moonlight Magic on May 23 and August 23, then again at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park on July 11 and August 2! Unfortunately, for West Coast Guests hoping to join in the fun from Southern California, Disney California Adventure Park’s registration window for its February 1 Moonlight Magic has already closed.
In addition, Disney does not open this event to just any Park Guest. Actually, the special celebrations are just one of the many Membership Magic perks Disney offers to Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Members, who sign up to attend through their membership representative. They require registration, and the Guest who registers must be present at the time of entry for the entire party to gain access inside the Park.
